Does look interesting but this and this don't bode too well for it atm.

Yeah saw that, figured I'd wait a month for them to finish and for steam special offer then give it a go

I dunno. Some of the comments on RPS put me off as there were a number saying that even when the game gets a few massive bug fixes and tweaks you'll be left with a working core game that's simply alright rather than good.

The fact that people have seen through the bugs and gone "meh" to it says dividends about its core.

PCG did a preview of it this month, and seemed to like its potential. However, I suspect the beta code they played is pretty similar to what has been released.

Also, I wouldn't put a great deal of faith in the comments on RTS. While its retard ratio is relatively low, it still has plenty of them.

Also, they released a patch today that allegedly fixes most of the things that were wrong with it. I've not had a chance to give it a poke yet though.

And a little more:

Interestingly, that's the CEO taking it on the chin and saying they blindly released the game in a poor state thinking it was finished. I find it ironic that I know more about this game (and feel more empathy for Stardock) because of its disasterous launch rather than the game itself.
