Langley heads back to the girls by the bar, who are now talking to another suit. On his way he pauses, turns and looks at you both. For the first time you remember he has a serious expression on his face. Then he turns and grabs the suit in an over-friendly two-handed hand shake.

I wonder if we can turn this to our advantage and get a legit BPN out of it? I'll give Haynes another call and see if there's anything going for "rooting out internal corruption".
Dirk to Haynes wrote:Sorry to bother you again Mr. Haynes. This BPN we've been given doesn't appear to be above board. I'm fairly sure Langley is unaware of the this, but the contact, Sumner, is not. Is there any way we can turn this into genuine work on a anti-corruption slant? I'm sure there's more to this than meets the eye.
Haynes wrote:I'll have a word with my contacts at Cloak and see if I can get a Grey issued. Send me a report on what you've found. Normally they wouldn't use a combat squad for something like this, but since you're already involved that gives you a fighting chance.
The husband probably isn't an issue, if she's trying to play this quietly then the chances are he doesn't know what's going on either. I'll head back to my place, suit up, and grab Bertha.
Briony walks for a good half an hour until she reaches a Suburbian bar. It's a little bit pretentious, and really it has no right to be with its fake plants and peeling paint, and fairly quiet. Briony enters and through the window you see her sit next to another girl at the bar.
They don't notice you. The bar's not busy, nobody does. They're talking about work at the moment. From the conversation you get the impression they work together, and that they both want a promotion.
Her companion is Haley Moses, SCL11, typist at the Dept of Delegation. They talk about work for a little while, then switch to a man at the office they both like, then onto Briony's husband. She doesn't seem to like him much, and doesn't know where he is. Exhasperated with him, she changes the subject and they spend another few hours bitching about various work colleagues and talking about TV. Finally they leave and head off in different directions.
Nah, I think we've established she's not going to see you, no need to kick the arse out of it. She walks back home the way she came and goes back into her apartment.
