History repeating itself?

Post by FatherJack »

Was playin' Rome: Scrotal War last night, I'm still not that far into the game and supposed to be killin' Gauls (yay).

Anyway, I didn't like the way Carthage was looking at me, so I invaded them and then exterminated their entire population. Didn't realise until I just looked it up, that is exactly how it happened IRL.

haha!

On a similar note, the gauls in the extreme north west of france gave me a ridiculously hard time, compared to their lilly livered brethren. Do you think this is a cunningly hidden away easter egg?

Haven't got up there yet, the French seem content making (and then immediately breaking) ceasefires with me and then wiping themselves out trying to attack my best-defended city.

Might go for a kebab instead. (Invade Greece)

I really enjoyed Rome:Total War Single player.. It doesn't get truely interesting until you destroy the fellow italian guys.. Well by destroy I mean kill their king/leader, Because then you get toons of rebels attacking all over the place. I never managed to complete it though, due to a series of events including me failing to back-up saves after a format, And me not being arsed to re-do a good 10hours worth of work, (May have been nearer 20? (And by work I mean playing)).

I fully recomend this game, However good the in-game big wars are, I never enjoyed them much, its all about conquering all of Europe. :)

Edit: Fatherjack, what are you doing researching when there is good gaming to be done? Unless you're at school/work that is totally uncalled for!

I was at work: reading a text page about ancient Rome looks a bit more convincing than a game. One day someone might even see me working.

I keep meaning to go back and give rtw another go. I never really completed it the first time round. I

modded it to Rome Total realism which is pretty fun but just takes too long. The map is HUGE and extends all the way to India.

Looking forward to NTW2 mod though 8)

Napoleonic Total War, I think.

History hasn't been repeating itself in RTW since I've been occupying Carthage, some 22-year-old fellow called Hannibal stopped by with his travelling circus of elephants. We defeated him easily.
