Nvidia GTX 480 takes on ATI 5870

If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

15% faster in a synthetic benchmark that heavily favors the GTX480's general computing performance (i.e.: ridiculous amounts of tesselation) is not that impressive. The GTX480 is going to be too hot, consume too much power, and is going to be too expensive, and that's if you can find one. I seriously doubt it's going to be worth buying over a 5870 for the price difference. It might be good to wait on that though as it will make AMD drop prices on the 58x0 cards for sure.
