Outlook 2007 image download wierdness
HALP!
My dads outlook has starting acting wierd. When you open an email with images included, it brings up the little bar at the top asking if you want to download the images, as normal. However, if you then click on it and say to allow images, it just brings up a bunch of redexes. Its like something somewhere is blocking the images, but we dont know what.
Its not the firewall or the virus scanner, as we have turned both of those off and it still does it. Its only been doing it for about a week. Also, it only happens in Outlook, IE is fine. Any ideas?

?I found last night that in my bottom right of the Outlook taskbar it said error in receiving messages. I clicked on the error and a dialogue box informed me the avast e-mail scanner had been disabled; it was the cause of the error.
I tried enabling the avast scanner and somehow everything is o.k now. The avast scanner starts as my Outlook loads and my pictures in my e-mails load as they should, if you select download the pictures in this message.

Nice idea Grim, but theres no error messages coming up in outlook either.
Tis wierd.
Its Outlook 2007 (fully up to date), on windows 7 home premium (again, fully up to date) and Avira Premium Security Suite for AV. As far as I can tell, there are no other AV or firewall thingies hanging about in the background either.HereComesPete wrote: Quite a few av systems will have a 'handy' email scanner that just blocks everything it's not 100% on.
What version of outlook, what OS and what AV system is papajoose using?
Tis wierd.

Outlook apparently uses werd html render not ie/ff and it's shit.
Possibly read through this, there's a few methods of trying to get the pictures back. http://office-outlook.com/outlook-forum ... msg_291552
Random google someone stated they fixed the problem by clearing out a full temp web cache.
Have you forwarded some of emails to yourself to see if you can open them okay?
