Oof, unlucky.

Regardless, the thing that attacked Jon spends its turn plummeting downward with rather grievous injuries. It's not dead, but only because it hasn't hit the ceiling yet.

The swarm of weird things - A susurration of noise can be heard above the gentle hiss of the dust, the carcass of the giant thing that Lex shot down has been busy getting devoured and disgorging clouds of golf ball sized beetle things. They tumble lazily through the air, frequently crashing into each other or the ground. They seem to have no clear aim, but they're moving inexorably toward the downed squad members.

The closest body is Jon, not much beyond that is Alvrin. Jon is bloodied and unconscious, Alvrin is still twitching fitfully as the strange creatures breath racks him. Lex is roughly equidistant from the bodies.

Joose, you're up again.

I can't help but think this is a bit of a tangent from the original elf-hunt :P

Now that I have been poisoned I can only think of that show-inside-the-game from Max Payne 2, Lords and Ladies, with the last "episode..."

Yes to bullet time. The distance is such that if you have one pass left you can move one, if you have two you can move one and get to the other but not move them.

As you drag Alvrin clear of the area he unfreezes, seemingly with no ill effect other than a few sore joints and bit of nausea.

Swarm of bugs waggle dances lazily toward Jon. Om nom nom.

Joose, do you have a third pass? I can't remember!

All of the little weeny bugs are eminently squashable, but there's a hell of a lot of them.

Well considering I was just incapacitated by said swarm, I think it's better to avoid further contact if possible.

You were got by the breath of the monster rather than the bugs I think. However if you don't they're going to make a salad out of me ;)
