Total Annihilation

I'm going to have a crack at getting TA working. A couple of people seem interested, so I'll do a bit of research and see what I can do.

Might fail miserably, but what the hey.

Me neither. It's got a pretty antiquated MP interface, but I reckon I might be able to host a game. It will certainly require the 3.1 (I think) patch and it is recommended that the patch is put on to up the unit limit to 500.

Only trouble I had was after I set up a game I couldn't start it, but that might have been because nobody else was connected.

We played this a bit at uni. (shit, we played Doom 2 at uni.)

I found it depressing, as it wasnt nearly as good as i remembered. The interface caused me great anger.

I think I'll probably sit it out untill the new one is released.

first of all, i've just re-installed this, and it works.

second:, make sure that there is a port forwarded on your fire wall/router if you are hosting.

seventy-twelvety: a new version you say? with fully 3d view points and being able to drive units in first person? and its available for no cashmoneys required? http://taspring.clan-sy.com/wiki/Features

hmmm. i may have to check this out :cheese:

well, i've just had a 5 minute mess about, so i thought i'd report back.

its.......well...it aint TA thats for sure, it plays more like battlefield (not BF1942,BFV,or BF2, i mean the first person rts from a coupla years back)
iits actually quite a laugh building a base, then using your commanders D-cannon to blow shit up.

Graphics arent up to much, but there playable. hmmm. this warrants further inspection, and i suspect it could be quite good in MP. :ahoy:

Well, it is from 1997 or thereabouts. I had a blast with the MP back then.
