Account compromised

Post by Roman Totale »

All my stuff has gone and they've emptied the guild bank.

Cunts.

I have a suspicion it might be the Tour Guide addon - same thing happened to Sheriff after he installed if I remember correctly.

I've removed Tourguide anyway (I never use it). You should get most stuff back if you petition.

What Pants said :above: . Ticket a GM as soon as possible. They'll lock your account for a day or two while they track the transactions, but they usually get 99% of your stuff back.

I also highly recommend a Battlenet Mobile Authenticator. Relatively cheap and hassle free way to prevent keyloggers munching your account.

I've used Tourguide for sometime and not had any isses (yet). I'm fairly certain it wouldn't be that though.

Bah, my phone isn't compatible.

I think, but I can't remember, that the Tour Guide I installed wasn't from Curse. I'll have to check all the addons I've got recently.

Fail. Although the site did say my freebie Nokia 3120c was incompatible, but it works fine. Only costs 50p anyway, so worth a shot.

Fail, I never had a problem with tourguide, so I'd be surprised if it was that.

Addons shouldn't have that much access to stuff anyway.

It's more likely to be a keylogger embedded in the site where you get "addons" from (whether those be wow related addons or ... other accessories).

Seems all too easy for people to have their accounts stolen these days. Even with good anti virus and firewalls they always find a way.

You could try one of those authenticator keyrings - http://eu.blizzard.com/store/details.xml?id=221003132

I use something similar for work, only when I'm logged in it's not as fun.

Blizzard have locked the account down now. They said they were sending me a new password but nothing has arrived so far.

Maybe they don't work on sundays. At least it's being sorted though.

Servers are in Paris, ofc they don't work weekends. Lazy French bastards, the lots of em. Actually I have nfc, but it's only right to blame the French for everything.

Might get one, since they're only £4.80.

Yeah, but it's silly you can't replace the battery in them and have to purchase a new security key. I only bought it since if you did you also got more ingame storage, and more personal inventory space is awesome.
