I can access forums and twitter all day long, the same as everyone else.
I understand the want to block plain old media sites, but social media isn't too different from talking to someone across a desk.

Facebook is blocked here apart from an hour at lunch too.

Why play with technology, just point your boss at him and use long words that sound bad. :P

What are your url rules? Twitter gives its feeds a .rss extension. But with Twitter's API there's a hundred different sites you could get a feed from.

No twitter, facebook, bebo, myspace, iPlayer, 4od, itv player, miniclip, mousebreaker, tvguide or any p2p applications. Between the hours of 9 and 5:30, excepting 1 hour at lunch. I think that's fair. I don't block forums though for some reason. Wonder why.
I feel that this is a wise decision.

PS: At home!

Sounds good - block access to RSS unless they can prove it's for work purposes. Then if they need it, add them to the whitelist for it :)

Cos clearly you'd be unable to do your job if you couldn't ask 5punkers how.
