I can access forums and twitter all day long, the same as everyone else.
I understand the want to block plain old media sites, but social media isn't too different from talking to someone across a desk.
Facebook is blocked here apart from an hour at lunch too.

Why play with technology, just point your boss at him and use long words that sound bad.

What are your url rules? Twitter gives its feeds a .rss extension. But with Twitter's API there's a hundred different sites you could get a feed from.

No twitter, facebook, bebo, myspace, iPlayer, 4od, itv player, miniclip, mousebreaker, tvguide or any p2p applications. Between the hours of 9 and 5:30, excepting 1 hour at lunch. I think that's fair. I don't block forums though for some reason. Wonder why.
I feel that this is a wise decision.
PS: At home!

Sounds good - block access to RSS unless they can prove it's for work purposes. Then if they need it, add them to the whitelist for it

Cos clearly you'd be unable to do your job if you couldn't ask 5punkers how.
