There's quite a cheap chain and padlock on the grille. You can decide which way you're going to try first, you can try and brute horse it, pick the lock etc etc.Joose wrote:
Bugger. Oh well, best get to the bypassin! What do I need to roll?
Deject - The voices are still muffled, but a little raised. Sounds more like heated debate rather than shouting though.
Shop -
As soon as you've all moved into the little reception room the voice pipes up again.
Just close the door behind you and I'll then buzz you in!

Deject - Using your microwire and gloves and rappelling down means the test is assisted climbing with a threshold of 2, You're rolling strength -1 because you don't have climbing or the athletics skill group.
I'll let you add parkour as a +2 though as even the strongest man can't just drag himself up a cliff without any technique.
Shop -
As you pull the door shut behind you there's a moment of darkness but then with a buzzing sound the steel door in front clicks open, dim light spills through the gap.
You all hear the voice again, but not through the intercom this time, it's from inside the shop;
The shop itself is like a bad caricature of magic shops from the trids, piles of books with names like 'liber malifium' and 'infernus diabolus' vie with skulls, stuffed creatures, dribbly candles and other assorted mawkish wares. Behind a high counter at one side amidst more stacks of gimcrackery sit a hideous lump of a creature, boils, warts and random sproutings of hair. The voice seems to emanate from one of the orifices that gather together at what is likely to be the face.

The voice without the intercom's electronic dehumanising is quite deep but sounds perpetually surprised at everything. Rising atonally toward the end of each sentence like a question and in a harsh North-Eastern accent, its likely to get grating very quickly.Come on in then, don't dilly dally in the cage! It's mostly there to stop unsavoury types from busting straight in and getting torn to pieces or set on fire, it takes ages to clean up if that happens! Sets me back days in my inventory management!

The lumpen thing capers along a low shelf built behind the counter, it's too short to see over otherwise.Phlegastus wrote:Hello! my name is Phlegastus. Unusual we, er, I get visitors to my magic shop in daylight hours?! What can I do you for?

It's flat and the tar is melting slightly in the heat, there's no skylights and nothing big enough to get down unless you attempt to tear the aircon unit free from the ducting it's on top of, or try to dig through the roof itself. The light post you used to ascend is a few metres away from the side of the building, the window nearest it is closed however so that's not viable. And there is of course the front door.
Over in the factory a hooter sounds. Within seconds there's a steady stream of people heading out the factory into the smoking area and more heading toward the car park and canteen/restrooms at the other end of the facility to the offices. The faint sounds of jokes and laughter carry across the concrete of the yard toward you as you crouch on the roof.
Below you, the voices continue. It's hard for you to perceive much without concentrating however...

Below you one of the voices turns toward the window for a few seconds as they move around, enough so a few words are heard amongst the unintelligible discussion. Something is mentioned about lunch at a wage slave bar in the nearby shopping complex, you then hear the door open and the voices growing louder as the discussion turns toward a pub lunch and then fading rapidly as they leave the room and the door closes behind them.
Soon after you hear the voices below you as a suited white elf and two suited white men walk out the front door towards the parking lot, no work discussion, just talk of a barmaid with impressive breasts in their lunchtime destination. The older man is making frenzied gesticulations with his hands as he walks, the other two are laughing.

Hehe.
Scrabbling down the wall slippy with melted roof tar, you swing into a room that is dominated by a light wooden laminate table surrounded by leather swivel chairs. There's a 3d unit in the table, it's on but showing static. The controls are inset in the table surface and locked in a standby mode. A couple of data slates sit on the table.
A few low tables with potted plants, models of machinery and a few machined pieces of metal sit around the edges of the room. A few mass produced abstract 'uplifting' office type pictures hang on the walls amongst technical drawings.

Are the data slates readable by my commlink?
I'll take a more in depth look around for any thing useful to me like uniforms, anything labelled "blood magic" or anything that will give me a better understanding of what this warehouse is for.
Perception (4) + Intuition (3) + Actively Looking (3): 5, 4, 2, 2, 3, 2, 2, 5, 2, 3: 2 hits.
I'll let Lex know about the 3D unit, maybe he can access it.

Lex, I'm in a manager's office or something, there's a 3D-unit in here but it's locked. If you can get here, you should check it out. I came in through the window, so I'll let you know where it is in a minute.

You know what? Sod the sewer entrance.
Im going to turn on my camo-suit (if I havent already, cant remember), make sure that anything non-camo is safely secured in my camo bag, and walk in through the front gates. Stealthily.
Infiltration (4) + Agility (7) = 11 dice: 5, 5, 4, 1, 3, 1, 6, 4, 5, 6, 2: 5 hits. (with -4 to peoples perception test to see me)
I'll try and time it for after the masses have gone through.

Fuck it, bloody thing didn't show any updates in here.
Joose - There's a few fairly nice cars/bikes leaving the plant for lunch as you are by the culvert. Looks like the tech staff eat away from the canteen, unlike the few grease monkeys the place employs.
As you approach the gate again it's pretty quiet. The only activity is the smokers in the smoking area and they're huddled in the shade of the factory about fifty metres away from the gate. No one is watching for a patch of air amidst the shimmery heat haze air of the tarmac and concrete yard. The only noises are the weak tinny sounds of the guards music and the distant zip of robotic loaders as they continue stacking pallets.
Deject - There's absolutely nothing screaming blood magic at you. The data slates are scrolling screen savers but notice one of the data slates has been left unlocked and isn't on a screen saver yet. You can interact with your pan or just pick it up and poke the touch screen.
Shop -
Roman - Your innate scepticism and keen eyes spot that most of the books and skulls are poor quality, your assensing tells you they possess very little power if any, but the building itself holds a variety of very powerful wards. You can also tell that the lumpen creature capering behind the till is a very weak mage, a few cantrips and pretty lights is likely to be the best it can do.
The creature just stares at Jon for a few seconds then clears it's throat with a hacking cough;

Of course powerful magic must be used responsibly! So there are of course the usual wavers on the products. Would you like to look at anything in particular?!
