Stats - In general you're looking at SP > mp5 > Int > Crit > Haste (though you can bump haste up more for extra burst heals during very heavy damage fights). Under no circumstances should Spirit be touched.
Gems - again a mix and match really, but you should look to be using to gems to cover for a shortfall in the above stats. But again prioritising SP > mp5 > haste > int, wouldn't bother with any Crit gems.
Totems - in most cases it will be Flametongue Totem/Healing Stream/Wrath of Air
When lacking a DK in a group it may be worth dropping Strength of Earth, or when melee heavy Windfury. Not forgetting Tremor and Cleansing when necessary, as is often the case now in ToC.
Spec - 0/16/55 Glyphed with Chain Heal, Earth Shield & Riptide.
Rotation - An effective skills rotation in most cases is Riptide > LHW > LHW on your main target, and other than that its just spamming Chain Heal for the group.Note there are no points in Healing Way however, but I find this somewhat useless as Healing Wave is still not an efficient heal, and if it can be avoided a resto Shaman should never be assigned to a Main Tank. Clearly that's aimed at raid healing, but the incoming damage in heroics is minimal in comparison, so the same applies.
Gear to Get - Currently ToC is by far your best bet to hunt for mail healing gear, and the Mariel's Sorrow healing mace drops from Eadric the Pure in heroic mode. The rest is simple badger farming for the Conker purchases and the odd boss drop.
