He's actually not that badly hurt. Well, not so much that he'll die anyway. Fractured cheekbone and concussion probably.

The youth saunters off, trying to look casual. He mostly fails, but most people seem to be paying attention to one of the raised pipes where a handful of the larger men have headed towards.
He approaches the smiler, and as he steps up to him he glances across the Forge directly at Dirk for a second, smile fixed, before regarding the youth.

The kid seems to be insisting something to the smiler, who is now following his gesticulations. Smiler stands up and turns towards where the squad is peering out, and sets off marching towards you. As he does, he brushes his hand over the kid's arm, who falls to the ground with a silent scream of terror and starts clawing his own eyes out, blood pouring through his fingers.

Grimmie hops from foot to foot and looks around, remembering that the small tunnel stretched for some time, they probably wouldn't be able to backtrack quickly enough to find a space open enough for cover, but he'll try and formulate some sort of positioning for the squad, even if it's as simple as "Ranged at the back, melee at the front".

Once he has fallen into some sort of position, I'll get to the aiming, one of the legs again.

Okay, well since everyone else thinks Deej shouted it, and since he said he was baiting Smiler. And since I'm bored...

Smiler doesn't react, but about a dozen Subterraneans do. A bit of pointing and exclaiming, then shouting from them, and soon all eyes are in your direction. The Subterraneans, with Smiler inbetween you and them, start running in your direction. As the crowd catches on, what started as a few brave individuals turns into a torrent of dirty, angry people all charging. A quick guess at numbers would put them at maybe 50, with stragglers emerging from shelters and from out of line of sight.

Here's a nice diagram for you. You're in the thinner tunnel in the bottom left. Smiler is the smiley. The black skull icons are Subterraneans. The black circle in the middle is a 10m diameter hole in the ground, the brown things are shelters, and the fire icon is a moderately sized bonfire. It isn't to scale - there's about 200m to the hole, about 80m to Smiler, and about 90m to the nearest charging Subterraneans.

So, bullet time then.
