Well I'm eventually going to cave and buy this, but I'm going to try and hold out until the end of September in the optimistic hope that my finances will be better balanced by then. The character creation tool is likely to comprise 50% of my in-game time, at least.

End of Beta Event!

Oh no! The Destroids are attacking Millennium City! Gather as many Champions as you can and join the fight throughout the city. From 10AM – 11:59PM PDT on August 24th, waves of Destroid robots will be attacking heroes throughout Millennium City. Mega-Destroids will also be causing mayhem and destruction throughout the city, so team up with as many other players as possible to try and take down these massive robots. You might even find some Destroyer clones appearing and utterly decimating your puny heroes. Can you survive?

All participants who help take down a Mega-Destroid will receive special perks and items which will be available to them at launch, including a “Mini-Destroid” action figure. Good luck!

One last outing for Dirty Dan!

It's the beta closing ceremony, and level 40 DESTRUCTOIDS had swamped the capital city, wreaking destruction. In an attempt to weigh the battle in the favour of the heroes, the powerhouse (skill building) boosted us all to level 40 and allowed us to go all-out on our guys. We are to get special rewards in the full game for felling a SUPER DESTRUCTOID!

We set off to mow down countless robots as they spill from their transport ships and begin to rip into the ever growing hoard of heroes.

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/ ... -22-14.jpg">

After a good search we spot one of the monsters, he dwarves us.

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/ ... -39-02.jpg">

More heroes start to assemble around the behemoth, tearing into him with psychic powers, fire, ice, bullets and blades, with the occasional bench tossed into the mix.

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/ ... -45-23.jpg">

The beast rips us to shreds as it stomps around

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/ ... -46-47.jpg">

Finally it falls! There's much rejoicing as we take our places on the robot's ass and jump in its corpse.

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/ ... -48-12.jpg">

But lo! Just a Pete joins, another spawns right ontop of him in the city centre! HEROES HO!

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/ ... -53-18.jpg">

We soon dispatch the giant, and dance in celebration.

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/ ... -02-01.jpg">

As a final farewell, we make new characters to piss around on. Meet Funnybuns.

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/ ... -19-23.jpg">

And his comrades..

<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v241/ ... -27-54.jpg">

The end.

The one you posted about :above:

Those destroyer clones were pretty hard, but they were no match for my super upgraded hulk style floor stomp and lightning field attack.

Soon a whole host of ACE combat robots will be unleashed upon the world to battle evil and throw street furniture around.

What I mean is; was there a formal quest or just turn up and fight? That's what I did.

As far as we could tell it was just a turn up and fight.
