Okay. Having been shafted by WoW and having signed up to the free AoC evaluation doobrey I've decided to keep a diary of it.

Here goes -

Day one -

11.59 - Installing.

12.04 Notice that you can have a free start at level 50 char if you already possess a char past 50 and that update 1.05 is due.

12.44 - insert disc 2 into drive

13.24 - re-insert disc 1 into drive.

13.56 - Hurrah! Installed!

13.57 - Oh yeah, updates.

14.40 - Updates. Head over to the AoC forums to look at class forums and decide on new 50. Update 1.05 is changing lots of stuff apparently.

14.41 - leave AoC forums after weeping gently at the retarded posts.

14.42 - Told there's only 50 minutes left until this update finishes. Have a feeling there will be more.

14.43 - Try WoW again to see if Blizzard sorted my monies. They haven't.

The saga continues.

15.42 - 3 minutes and then the update is complete. I'm listening to a cover of 'cars' by fear factory and have got round to updating shadowrun with joose, fabbles and on the forum. Waiting for updates horses you to do other things it would seem.

15.44 - Bizarrely the d/l rate has dropped massively so it's now 5 minutes until I find out if there's more to go.

15.45 - 17.11 - It's not broken yet and it's even prettier. Our town is still there and has whores and chickens as well as general inhabitants. The buildings now do things too, like buff everyone with better combat and resistance.

Everything is dirt cheap on the AH, looks like the economy collapsed compared to the pre-set prices for stuff like mounts and pots.

They've changed most of the conq skills and the dps on dual wield is a lot higher. The CC on the dual wield is better too. They've changed a lot of skills from cooldown to toggle, looks quite a tricky class to pvp.

Class balancing on archer to check next.

Then a new class to try, guess I'll go for a clothie from 50 and try run something through tortoise.

Ooh, stuff in the town. Nice. Two things I'd like to see that might tempt me:

Does your pet still cause everything to attack you?

Are there enough quests for me to level?

Pet aggro onto you - yes. However, I'm playing as a necro and I'm getting a pet every fatality, I've had 4 frozen hatreds fighting for me and nothing has made it through their skirmish screen to me. They seem to proc a lot more too.

Not sure on quests yet.

Help is painfully lacking.

Travelling using fast systems consists of trying to find the caravan masters and then popping up somewhere else. At least there's more than there used to be.

Combat is still visceral and more engaging than any other mong.

A few updates to the hud lets you see prices of stuff for vending and the search function on the AH works now.

Okay. WoW downtime. I know what I'll do I'll play other mmo's.

But I won't play AoC because the cunts have frozen my account mere days into my supposed 2 week trial.

Took longer to install than time I played in it.

Un-installed, get to fuck. If I ever try this again then something must have gone horribly wrong.
