Secret of monkey island glee!

Post by Dr. kitteny berk »

Steam wrote:Back by popular demand, The Secret of Monkey Island™: Special Edition faithfully re-imagines the internationally-acclaimed classic game (originally released in 1990) for original and new audiences alike. The development team at LucasArts is bringing the game into the modern era with an all new re-imagined contemporary art style, a re-mastered musical score, full voiceover, and an in-depth hint system to help players through the game's side-splitting puzzles. Purists will also delight in the ability to seamlessly switch between the updated hand-drawn re-imagining and the original classic version.

Basically seems to be a straight remake of monkey island in HD, 2gb, £7.

This has been announced quite a while ago, along with the new episodes being announced.

Unless you're just pointing out that it's been released, in that case carry on.

Yup, and I am, and I have no need to carry on, my original transmission did the job.

I think I'll give this a go. Can't argue with £7, and I've wanted to play a Monkey Island for a while but never have.
I'm not good at pixel-hunting though and quickly tire of trying every item against everything else. How Adventure Game Logic™ is this?

You'll need a walkthrough occasionally, probably.

Edit: that is to say, mostly stuff makes sense, but not always, and it's worth playing.

Think I might have to find out how good the old classic is in Super-21st-Century-Vision.

Bought, played, is same old Monkey Island good with a slightly annoying interface, and those who played it probably noticed the other rather annoying flaw.

It's the extremely long pause between the sentences.

Also, veeery loosely related:

I rather enjoyed it. It was good to see everything with updated graphics and everything. I did find the new interface awful, though.
