It can't be any worse than ArmA1's 15 yo English exchange student voice 'acting'. Although apparently the US Soldiers in the story sometimes spontaneously switch to a dodgy eastern european developer's voice.

Probably the same voice acting then.

I suspect it's just lacking a lot of filtering to make it sound shitty.

I don't know, whether you have heard of "Wine Wars" in Arma1. It was my attempt of a Realtime Strategy mod. With Arma2, I'm currently programming the sequel to it, called "Farm Wars". It is about keeping cows, processing them to meat and selling them to the cities for money, which you can use to buy units. Hopefully with a working supply and demand system.

:?

try closing steam, deleting clientregistry.blob (in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam) and restarting steam.

So I've seen two or three people playing this on steam... how is it? Worth buying? Have any of you noticed the FADE thingy (er, not as in activating it, since I'm guessing you all bought it - I mean is it some sort of always-running-garbage-process)?

If you like this sort of game, it's worth buying.

Not noticed any junk processes while not running the game (and not looked while playing, because I don't care)

If you're a bunny hoppin' laser shootin' pew pew COD god, do not buy this game. If you like slower, more simulation type stuff then this is OK. It's basically just an update of ArmA 1 with a few of the better 3rd party mods and bits built in, shinier graphics and even worse voice acting.

I don't expect I'll have the time to play it, but how does it compare to the original Op Flashpoint? I found ArmA a bit hollow after that for some reason.

From what I've played, it feels more like ofp than arma, but that's mostly in that it's playable

:above: took fucking ages.

Partly because stuff kept going odd, and partly because it's a fucking epic game, the last mode we tried, I could see taking 10-12 players 4-5 hours to complete.

I've uploaded CRCTI_Warfare map, which is basically the same as what we did tonight but much more clear wtf is going on.

Also Evolution, which is a variation on the theme of all out war with lots of toys

And Domination, which is another variation on the theme with more teamplay and lots of mini missions, which could be ace for 5punky stuff. I can't get this to upload though so will poke Berk for helps :)

Btw, all the maps dowload automagically when you join the server, so no need to get them separately.

The maps should be sorted now, had a play on the domination one, and got my arse kicked.

The in game downloads aren't super-fast, but as the maps are under 1.5MB each, it's not a massive concern.

Been poking around to see why half those maps won't load on the server. There seems to be a cfg file missing, though I'm not sure why it'd make any difference (seems to basically horse various user settings for anyone who joins the server).

I tried the demo, but it kinda felt like I was trying to play a synthesizer rather than a game.
So not really for me.

I had a go and felt like I was constantly fighting the controls to do what I wanted.

Just been having a play in the editor, and managed to BSOD.

But then thats probably what i deserved for having an airfield full of alsatians and chickens, and then blowing teh crap out of them with a tunguska! SO...MANY...FLYING...DOGCORPSES

And sadly, no, there isn't any horses in the editor, so theres none in game. cows, chickens, dogs, but no horses.
