Aren't PC games generally already HD?

I think it's a bit of a lie calling it HD, but from that article it seems they'll be using the new Serious Engine 3, and remaking the first 2 installments in uber high resolution textures:
Serious Sam HD will be an enhanced remake of the first game which, just to clarify things for newcomers to the series, actually includes two previously separate titles - Serious Sam: The First Encounter and Serious Sam: The Second Encounter.
Which is not bad news, even if currently Sam 1 and 2 still look very good on high settings. They might not have all the fancy pixel shading and lighting of newer games, but they were gifted with decent textures for the environments at the time, and so still stand up, and more importantly, the graphics are functional.

Well the Serious Sam gameply will never get old. It's the FPS equivalent of an old sideways scrolling shooter. Not my cup of tea particularly, although I did find it moderately enjoyable, but certainly a game worth noting and good to see it remade.

I have a blast on it on my xbox every now and again. It's quite freshing to just play a linear shooter that revels in just being fun.

And sometimes you just need to shoot lots and lots of things.

Wow, I hope it does have co-op on both platforms.

All of this. Fed up of running round on traps in old tombs to press that super hidden button that somehow still makes a door open after a squillion years of inactivity?

Then load this and shoot everything until you can't focus any more. :likesitall:

I'm a bit worried that the new graphics will make the hordes of enemies look not quite as hordey. I used to love launching a cannonball into the path a load of stampeding bulls and stuff.
