I've not failed that yet, had to redo it as it didn't log the expert I got for the grenades, I only got basic first time around and redid it in the mission right there and then, the results popped up saying basic but 6/6. Think it just needs time to sort itself out as it's fine now and given me the medal for it as well.

Also, medic mission appears bugged. Just got 8/8 on the exam for it, and it hasn't appeared to have logged it. Gonna give it 5 mins again.

edit: Yeah, it's just slow tonight, I suspect it's due to the Auth servers getting a hammerings with lots of people playing.

Also, MOAT test is not as fun as the SAS CoD 4 one, but good enough.

Moat test? Didn't that mp fail his? :P

As for my mout test, blazed that too. Got everything expert at basic and I'm currently trying to push my marksman score to the full 1200, I'm at 950 so far, missing a few head shots and getting body shots which score lower.

It's all caught up now, had to exit and restart but it's sorted itself out.

The joys of being on xp are that it only freezes every third/fourth level load.

We should try red orchestra this weekend. Give AA3 time to un-shit itself.

I have to admit, that marksman one is difficult. I've just set a personal best of 935, although one was a purposeful pelvic shot which obviously lowers scores.

Also, I'm finding it easier crouching than prone. Hmm.

Edit: Is anyone having problems joining multiplayer matches? I've managed to join one so far where the server was broke and it wouldn't let anyone join a team, and every other time so far (about a dozen) it starts loading, music stops, then it starts loading up the menu again. Can't actually play online atm.

Hotfix has been released. Seems much better today. I've just gone through all the training (again) and it updated immediately and popped me on to the next training mission.

Got expert in them all :)

Had about 2 hours on a stable German server before everything fell over. Much, much better. But not there yet.

/edit And I must say, whilst the sound, in general, isn't that good; the voice comms are crystal clear.

Got Expert in all except the one that includes chucking grenades about. I'm sure it's bugged as the targets always seem to go down the instant the nade goes off, but it claims that I've always missed two or three.

Played online this morn. Ran around and got confused. Pron block seems more of an issue than it was in cod.

Surely you're old enough to turn Pron blockers off, Roman?

Not had a chance to try that yet, but it's the fabled TeamSpeak3 isn't it? Almost as elusive as the Yeti.

Apparently so, according to the AA forums.

Played a bit online earlier. On a map that I remember playing in whichever other AA I played years ago.

Pff.

It looks like a rerelease of the last two games, you have to keep retrying to connect and repeating the training sessions until you're sick of them.

Sounds more like Dad's Army.

Me and Mr J concluded in a conversation earlier that it provides a realistic US army training system. It's broken, generates rage and the wrong people end up getting shot because of it.

I particularly like how it labels the recruits who've passed basic as elite warriors in the oil painting cut scenes.

It's currently not letting me run any training stuff because it freezes and then sometimes ctd's if I click any training option.

Well, I managed to get on a server eventually. It's actually quite fun once you get into it.

Not polished though, and lotsa bugs. Most annoying is the role change inability and the inability to changed to unlocked weapons (although, the Red Dot is available for every M16 user but the bog standard rifleman for some reason...).

I reckon it needs a couple more patches before it's actually playable without getting rage at the UI and it's bugs, let alone ingame oddities like damage.

Edit: The unlocks are server settings I think, because I've just been using the M4 and softbag ammo for the M249, both of which I haven't done the training for.

You face palm what is the truth of American armies the world over. This game is based on that truth that the 'elite warriors' aren't allowed too much fancy gubbins until they take the tests and qualify for it's use.

It's the same to an extent in our horses too. If our snipers want to move to ranges beyond the l96 they have to qualify on the big .50's, doing this takes time and money so the army doesn't like paying and restricts qualification to senior nco's regardless of actual ability.

I wouldn't mind, but considering it's an unlock that the grenadiers, squad leaders and even machine gunners can use one, I don't see why it was restricted/not allowed in AA3 purely for riflemen role of the fire group.

I'm thinking it may be a bug narf.

I might just put this game away for about 2 years, when it will work mostly as intended.
