The offline is working perfectly for moi. Had a dry run through all the available training missions and all is hunky-dorey. Auth servers are still down though, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Mine attempted to unlock and spazzed. So I left it alone figuring any free game on steam takes a beating on the servers.

I was going to install it, but apparently my HDD is full. oops.
So right now I'm placing my entire steam folder on my new mostly empty HDD.

I guess perfection isn't good enough for the U.S. Army...

I completed up to the start of that with an expert badge for the assault course and an expert bar for my rifle with 39/40 targets. Then it started to load the range again for the three tasks (That I've only just completed in the beta) and then the game ctd'd. Hopefully my scores are recorded because I spazzd the course in 1:01 which is a damn good time.

I haven't learned the controls well enough for a good time on the course. I have to remember how to do that damn roll. When I'm trying to hurry I spaz out and forget.

I re-mapped all mine to the ones I like to use in all fps'.

I found a good way of gaining time on the roll under the log is sprint off the top of the metal beam tower, then as you land a double tap on sprint then hit 'x' for the combat dive thingy so you land under the log. This lands you on the floor at a position where the automatic stand up is blocked so you can then roll and go. If you do it fast enough you can use the auto stand up part on the other side of the log as it tries a couple of times to get you out of prone. Apparently 56/57 seconds is the fastest so I'll be looking to shave a few more seconds off.

editz - I tried the combat dive to roll thing, I think the dude who wrote this way :above: meant to put press 'x' whilst sprinting instead of 'c' because that's a forward dive and takes a good couple of seconds off unless you do it too close, then you clip on the board that blocks you and it spazzes.

Not only that some cockbadger took Baliame as a username, the auth servers are constantly down.

I finally got it to auth my character. I was very pleased with the name it suggested, though. Say hello to Private CrabThumbs.
It seems to sit flipping though pictures for cocking ages though.

edit: I've successfully completed the first section of training twice now, can I move on plzkthx.

No you can't.

I've found that exiting and leaving it a few minutes then re-trying tends to make a score stick.

Trying a way to get my 3 expert at weapons to register so I can do the medic and mout courses. I've got 100% on all of them, but every time I finish one it tells me I failed the other two utterly. Then it crashed.

There's an offchance of someone else inventing the name, which should be about 10^-26%, otherwise I'm not old and senile like that just yet, I'd remember if I had registered it. :P

Yeah, I've had that a couple of times, just trying the ol' "log out and wait for 5 mins" to hopefully get the basic marksman to stick.

Don't fancy doing for a 3rd time really.

EDIT: As I posted that:

When I first tried that it said I failed the m249 bit even though I aced it, so I retried the entire thing (did all three of them again, starting with the grenade one for no reason in particular) and they all registered fine. Was annoying having to do them all again, but it got it to work. I also didn't re-qualify any of them on my second attempt, since I thought maybe that was what screwed it up
