I'm putting my cards on the table now to say that, despite my love of the franchise and my faith that Aykroyd and Ramis can create a good script, I think there's a high probability that the game will be crap. I hope I'm wrong, but it'll be bucking the trend of primary console developed titles if it does.
Sony buys Ghostbusters game from Atari

Metacritic is making this sound decent, but not great.

Oh, something good has come of all this. The third film seems to be becoming more of a reality, and I'm convinced that it's in no small part because of the love shown for the franchise upon the announcement of this game. Ghostbusters 3? You can keep your game, I want the film, and with Rick Moranis and Sigourney Weaver not likely to be involved they can make it better than GB2, with less pointless back references.
Possibly. Last I heard about the movies was that he'd retired to a Carribean island, but I suppose if the money is right...TezzRexx wrote:Didn't Rick Mooronis lend his voice in the end for the game? If so, I wouldn't be suprised if he has a small part in GB3.
Also, no CO-OP for the PC sucks giant ass.

That's because it's too much for any game in my opinion and especially for an apparently mediocre game with a few fun bits. I guess play/game/amazon are the best chances for any discount.TezzRexx wrote:In other news, anyone know where I can get this cheapish for the PS3?
I seem to have a complex when it comes to paying £40 for a game.

I'm rather enjoying this.
The game isn't perfect, but I've not seen any bugs, despite being a console port the controls are all fine, AI is surprisingly good too.
The story (as far as I've got) uses ghosts from both movies and seems to be pretty decent, it's keeping me interested, and isn't painful, which is surprising, given what the game is.

The story is the one thing I did expect to be good. It was written years ago by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis for a third movie, but has been made into a game since it looked unlikely to ever be made. It probably hasn't had a movie publisher tinkering with it like GB2, and the writers worked closely with the devs. Ironically, it looks like the film might be made now, which I can only assume must be at least in some part due to the anticipation for the game.
