You punch a hole through the door, taking the lock with it.
In other news, shotgun bloke isn't dead, but that crushing blow from Eraser's chainaxe has him looking distinctly wobbly. He fires another panicky burst;
8 +8 (skill) +2 (shotgun) -5 (range) +2 (RoF) -3 (wild shot) = 12
That's one hit; PEN 7, DAM 9, AD 7
1 damage, 7 AD.

Aaaah, I applied the bullet pen rules. Damn my own rules. I'm getting confused. Sorry, before the next combat it'll be worked out. He expired before he got that last shot off, although the next hit would have killed him anyway.The Shutting Downs wrote:I have just hit him for 29 damage - armour and he is still standing?
hoooboy...
okay, if we are moving to 4;
10+3+9-2 (wounds) = 20
10 more for shotgun man.
The scientists hit the button and start to disappear, and we can come out of bullet time. Grimmie, you're stood at the top of some concrete stairs with a bit of a railing around, that only lead to where the others are. There's no floor here to summon the lift to.

Right, now that bullet time is over I can hopefully make some sense of what has been going on. I'll do a sweep of the room we're in and inspect the bodies.

It's surprisingly difficult to get into shotgun bloke. First you have to remove the Blocker he's wearing. Then he seems to have a layer of armour just under his skin. It's going to take you a considerable amount of time with no surgical skill to get to your meal.
Roman, scouting about you find that the place seems to have been unoccupied until a couple of weeks or so ago. Recently there seems to have been a fair bit of activity, including at least one vehicle. There's a sort of lounge with a TV and some cooking facilities, toilets and a shower. There's also a sleeping area with about a dozen cot beds in it and various items of clothing and toiletries around.
Checking out the corpses you find them to be armoured and relatively old for Downtown. One of them, the stabby guy, is wearing Exo. Further investigation reveals recent surgery scars and signs of multiple cybernetic enhancements, although you've never seen any cybrnetics before.

AR guy has: Some damaged Blocker (not Shiver issue), a FEN AR, 60 rounds of 10mm STD (2x full mags, 1 with 10 rounds).
Stabby guy has: Damaged Exo, a FEN 603 with 40 rounds of 10mm STD (pistol, 2 mags).
Shotgun guy has: Damaged Blocker (again, not Shiver issue), a KPS Mangler with 24 shot rounds and 10 slug.
All three have large coats over their armour, scarves round their necks, and a few personal effects (a few uni, a faded as to be unreadable SCL card, a worn ring, etc).

I'll take 12 of the 10mm rifle bullets.
Well, I think we have found the right place. Judging by the surgery and implants on these guys that Dirk uncovered, I'd say these guys are probably refurbished chrome warriors. Let's keep an eye out for more. Maybe we can grab one of those scientist types and get some info out of him.

Grimmie casually walks down the stairs rubbing at his fist with a pained expression on his face.
I'll grab the personal effects and stash them, might be able to get some info on them if we can later examine the SCL cards in greater detail.
I am also now wearing the fancy, haunted golden ring of a dead man. Kooky.

I didn't manage to fire any shots, so I'll refrain from ammo hogging for now, I usually fire single shots rather than bursts anywho.Uh.. Helloooo..
I see you have taken care of the muscle. They got anything nice?

I'll take a look around too for anything unusual, particularly means of following these guys down as quickly as possible before they can alert whoever it is they've gone to join.So how's about that lift? Could open the doors and cut the cable for a giggle, or find some other way down.

Doesn't seem to be any other way out of here apart than the elevator, which went down. The room you're in is basically just a large concrete garage that has had some drywall partitions put in to divide off a couple of crudely build rooms. The elevator is the sliding grill sort, and is pretty big - easily big enough for the whole squad to stand in.

Going to do a detect roll to see if there are any other doors we missed that might take us to the destination of the elevator or maybe even a ventilation system I could fit through for recon or something. I don't think we should just pop down there if the elevator does come back up. We could hide Deej's camera in it though and send it down calling at all floors to see what it might pick up. Maybe we could try another unit for access going down as well (if the elevator went down.)Phoebe wrote:Damn, I missed them..There must be stairs somewhere that leads to where that elevator is going, you know, "in case of fire do not use elevator" health and safety crap.
