MO packs up his kit and places a happy pill next to the guy, then goes back to the rest of the team.MO wrote:That's ridiculous. Ask any of these five, I've been with them for the past few minutes.
You know, you need to cheer up a little. Here, have a happy pill.
MO wrote:The guy's clearly delusional, nothing I can inspect on him. I suggest we go and do the mission, the clock is ticking, and we have to make the friend computer happy.
Suddenly, his eyes go wide.
He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a grenade. Most of you have never seen a real grenade in use before and yet, strangely enough, every one of you understands at an instinctive level that this one has been triggered.Orange bloke wrote:The walls! They’re coming out of the walls! I won’t let them take me! You can’t make me go!

Derek shrieks and places his bullhorn right next to his mouth, yelling.
Pointing at the RED clearance door, making a move to get out of the room himself.Derek wrote:GRENADE! Get out!
He scolds as he turns back to a second, still carrying that freaky smile.Derek to ORANGE wrote:It is TREASON to threaten the physical safety of another citizen!
MO notices the grenades and shouts
Meanwhile, he shouts at Grif: (shouting assuming he's still scratching his balls within three yards of that grenade
)
He runs towards the door along with Derek.MO wrote:TAKE COVER! IT'S A GRENADE!

/off: Actually, it's part of the equipment, or at least I believe so. When I recieved my character sheet, it was under personal as "Happiness drugs". Also check out equipment sheet, Gelgernine, happy tablets, red clearance. Finally, check red book, IR and R clearance perks. I'm in the clear here.MO to Grif wrote:I'm afraid you're mistaken, Happy Pills are commercial products, and besides, as an INFRARED we were obliged to take them. These are the ones left over, in case I would turn unhappy. Happiness is mandatory!

Bess appears completely unpeturbed by this sudden crisis and is stood staring at the newcomer.
Bess attempts to usher the distraught fella out back onto the platform.Bess wrote:How did you get in here? You know Infrareds are not allowed in higher clearance areas and this area is plainly a red area. Come now, get out, before you are executed for treason, here...
The grenade explodes.
The ORANGE bloke is blown to bits, showering the room with gore.
Bess is stood right next to it and is blown in half, scattering entrails over Geoff and Mona.
Geoff and Mona are nearby, and are peppered with shrapnel. Both are thrown across the room with lots of holes in them.
Derek, slowed down by shouting through his bullhorn and gesticulating, catches a back full of metal and collapses. MO, struggling to get through the door at the same time, suffers the same fate.
Griff is the only person to survive, his body shielded fro the worst of the shrapnel by the corpses of his comrades as he runs through the door. He still catches a sharp lump of metal in the leg though.

Your new clones are all activated (apart from Roman's) and your data downloaded into them. Anything that was destroyed when you died is replaced, and you are sucked up into a big plastic tube where you hurtle through Alpha Complex, Futurama-style.
Meanwhile scrubots turn up in the RED room that Roman is in and start cleaning up the corpses. Some pick up the equipment off the corpses, clean it, and pack anything that isn't broken up into a nice shrink-wrapped parcel ready for the next clone.

The multicorder's trashed, but your new clone is given a nice shiny new one. The damage rolls were made randomly, as I didn't care whether people died or not, but were pretty difficult to pass. Roman just about made it because he had the most bodies between him and the grenade.Deject wrote:Is my multicorder still running or is it blown to bits as well? Also, was I screwed from the start or could I have saved myself?

Does this mean a get to spend a little "alone time"?
Whilst waiting for the others to arrive, Grif does the best he can to make the place a bit more cheerful. Having to improvise due to a lack of materials, he daubs anti-communist slogans and motivational phrases on the wall with the blood of his fallen team mates. He makes sure to use a moistened towelette to clean his hands afterwords.
