Bf2 Weapon unlocks

Post by Dr. kitteny berk »

Well, given that we now have some potential to get multiple unlocks in bf2 without wasting our lives, i figured it'd be fun to add some info about each one. Please reply to correct me on details and add your own thoughts :)

* Assault: G3 battle rifle (no grenade launcher).
* Sniper: Barrett M95 sniper rifle.
* Spec Ops: G36C carbine.
* Engineer: MK3A1 shotgun.
* Medic: L85A1 assault rifle.
* Support: PKM machine gun.
* Anti-Tank: DAO-12 shotgun.

So far i have the L85A1 (though, given the conditions, i think it's more likely to be an A2, with the upgraded HK parts) and the G3

L85: Pretty accurate, reasonably powerful and a considerable upgrade over the US medic rifle, however i prefer the MEC AK over the L85

G3: Oh boy, this is a gun i like, unfortunately you do lose the grenade launchers from the other assault class Rifles, however the rate of fire, accuracy and power of the G3 makes it an outstanding mid range rifle (on the gulf of oman i've taken out people in the nearest US base (64 player) with ease) I'd suggest this over all of the basic rifles, unless you absolutely have to have a grenade launcher

I think I might have to get this now that I can run it,

Also I wasn't too keen on the ranking thing to unlock weapons but if it's easier to gain ranks now then BF2 I must get FTW!!

you must get.

the unlocks are pretty reasonable now. you still have to sink a good amount of time in, but it's worth it now.

Let's see... here's what I think of my unlocks

Barrett M95 Sniper Rifle - I seem to do better with this than the other choices.
G36C Carbine - I prefer the sights on the regular spec ops guns, but I seem to do just as good regardless.
MK3A1 Shotgun - Only 7 shots, but god help the poor bastard that you're shooting at (in range, mind you). Also takes a while to reload.
L85A1 - I prefer this over all the other medic guns because I have the scope.
DAO-12 Shotgun - Wheeeee! 12 shots of carnage! Reloads a shell at a time, so you don't have the same problems as the engineering unlock.

I have:

DAO-12 (KICK ASS! Best shotgun in the game!)
MK3A1 (Makes engineers viable)
L85A1 (Great ranged weapon)
PKM (also kicks ass)

The DAO-12 makes the Anti-tank much mor fun to play. I got 4 kills in a row with it because their stupid medic didn't see me I think.

Hey man, Engineer is my most played class. It's all about knowing when to hold 'em and knowing when to fold 'em. Knowing when to walk away, knowing when to run, etc.

I bought some off eBay for £10 (they're genuine - honest!) whilst drunk. Decided they looked too big on my face and gave them to my dad. Man he looks cool driving to B&Q at the weekends 8)
