For the love of god I hope Bethsoft don't push them and actually give them as much time as they need to finish the game and iron the bugs out otherwise we'll have another half baked game on our hands.

NWN2 was rather buggy, for sure, but KotOR 2's problems were definitely LucasArt's fault for making them rush it out. Obsidian definitely had potential for greatness, but they need to get it together a bit.
They've had chances for great games given to them, but just as they're getting things nailed they've been told to release. I think both the sequels have been very good, just that they've been handed big tasks trying to match the originals.
NWN2 runs fine now for me and although the first add on was poo, I liked the second story. Shame they spread themselves too thin and it lacked the depth of the first.
With kotor 2 the bits that were finished showed depth and polish on a par with the first, just that the ending fell apart and the story unravelled.
I'm still fuming over the first NWN2 addon and I can't help comparing KoTOR2 to Jade Empire as what it could have been.
The odd numbers are crap syndrome common to CoD and the Star Trek films may play a part though:
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords (2005) Neverwinter Nights 2 (2006) Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer (2007) Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir (2008)
Fallout: New Vegas ?
There's that fallout operation anchorage add on thing. Which is shit. So although it doesn't technically stand alone, I'm hoping las vegas fallout will be quite good.

The new one, The Pitt, is a lot better. There's about 4-6 hours of gameplay, depending how much exploring you do and there's quite a bit of potential for it. It has a few faults but overall it's well worth playing, probably even worth the £6.50.
One of my favourite aspect of it was the morally ambiguous decisions you have to make. Very unusually in a game and had me replying parts at the end.
If someone can make a full game of similar quality in the FO universe then it's all good with me.

I say this every time KOTOR 2 is mentioned, but I really want to play the Restoration Mod that's been in the works since shortly after it was released.

Just out of interest has anyone tried the greenworld mod for FA3?
It's pretty good, helps break up the landscape nicely and makes it look much better but doesn't break up the atmosphere. It's still clearly an apocalyptic wasteland but just with a bit of greenery around.
Fallout 3 has probably entered my favourite games ever. Although I got annoyed at the levelling system, hated the ending and grew bored of endless subway systems, I still found it to be immersing which I rarely get from any game these days.
