Live at the Apollo

Also on the iPlayer and superbly funny, 2 or 3 comedians doing stand up and they're all either really funny people you've heard of, or really funny people you've not heard of (even Alan Carr was funny and I normally can't stand him) :ahoy:

Very funny, mostly. There was a weak bit in the middle, but otherwise excellent. Don't watch that sketch show with that fat one and the other one from Gavin & Stacey. It's shit (I'm lead to believe), watch this instead. It's on Mondays at 22:00 and here's the first episode:

Quite funny. Lee has a pretty sharp wit but he comes across (at least, in my book) as being a bit of a pious twat. Sniping Moyles for writing a half-arsed autobiography is a cheap shot. Hopefully the coming episodes will have a little more imagination.

The little sketches were good, especially the traffic lights one, but god that bit with the 'description' of rappers was tedious.

Yeah, that was a bit embarrassing.

I thought that at first, but I found the pay off of "It's not really aimed at me" made it work.

I enjoyed the show, on the whole. Not ground-shattering, just OK. Highlights for me were the sausage and the smaller images. Are there going to be Iannucci-based Red Button interviews after every show or just this first one?

I'm enjoying Castle so far. It's slightly generic and not particularly original, but I like the characters and the actors, so it makes for a pretty decent watch.

:above: continues to be the case.

Annoys me a bit too, it's so nearly good, but isn't quite there.

:above: Less comedy...mor seriousness...need something really really wicked that could be ongoing. I thought that's what they were going to do with the copycat murders of his books. I thought....wrong.

Southland

L.A. cop show, follows story of rookie cop. Watching beat cops interact with their community has potential for goodness, but the show needs to overcome cop show stereotypes. I'm going to be watching this one some more.

Ashes to Ashes started last night, was okay - bit more on track with the story. Also Mrs McClusky FTW.

There's a remake of Reggie Perrin, with Martin Clunes starting Thursday-ish. I suspect it will be awful.

Ashes to Ashes was better than it has been. That weird sexual in-your-endo that didn't work wasn't as bad and the story did more.

I've preached about this show for a couple years now...you're the first to ever talk about it...

I've seen it a few times, seems to be kinda like an x-files for the new generation, only not quite as original or good.
Entertaining though.

I tried to watch XFiles a few times...could never figure out all the hype for it and I think I was watching Buffy and Hercules/Xena back then.

Just cuz there are no aliens...you don't have to hate...
