Every single gun is more accurate. Bunnying versus lying down is even closer to fair. The map 'sand' effect to help shit computers has been cleaned off, it's neater, you can see further and the pop-up isn't that bad despite the changes. There are regular dumps of weapons so you can switch to stuff that kills the incoming threat easier. Planes are more varied and better. Vehicles move faster, are damaged by everything a bit more but are harder to hit. Their custom maps are good. It has actual super green air death aids cannons. I shit you not.
It's fucking awesome. Everything has been polished and all the weapons feel meatier, the new weapons all feel well balanced and the new maps have been well thought out.
Highlights from last nights game include:
Pete screaming at me to duck just as an AT rocket came through one of the windows of the hut I was in and wooshed over head and out through the opposite window.
Lying on a hill with an attack helicopter flying past 3' off the floor.
The ANTI-FUCKING-EVERYTHING .50 HE/AP/INCENDIARY firing cannon, think Robocop with those massive rifles at the end of the first one.
Using the above to take out a little bird from across the map.

I was actually firing the AT rockets at a tank the other side of the building.
Cannon rounds that scream past like artillery, they scare the shit out of you.
Every point is capturable, including carriers and airstrips.
That as50 cannon is immense, a magazine will kill an apc.
And now Berk has provided us with a server. Beef is back and it's bloody good.

I've given this a few days trial before my first 5punky game tonight and it is a resounding: WHIN!
The first thing that I noticed (literally, within the first 30 seconds) is how much "snappier" the game feels. The infantry aspect just does everything faster. Later on, I found that this extends to the vehicles and aircraft being more responsive, and therefore easier for a vehicle biff like me to use and enjoy this part of the game much more. The downside to this is that the players already practised as air/armour whores can almost dominate a map very quickly.
I'm not totally sold on the maps yet. That said, I have only installed the core maps and there still loads of custom map packs to try. Even in the core maps I still find new maps daily (the highlight thus far being the bi-plane dogfight map. Immense fun.)
The new kits have loads more toys to play with and they are much less vanilla than the ones in BF2. Almost all classes can now hold their own in close combat with the addition of a secondary weapons for some classes (Ingrams for snipers, MP7's for AT, etc). And, as Pedro said, the pick up kits mean you are never lost for something to play as the situation changes.
The highlights are the new gats. They shoot further, are more accurate and are just plain cool as fuck.
It's miles from BF2, and probably a little poorer in terms of "realism" but it is boat-loads of fun.

I suppose the only thing that niggles me is due to engine constraints, every damn gun can now kill you at sniper ranges. You can see someone = you can slot them. Should be the case that the first round from a mac11 or glock 19 (or even a subsonic 9mm from a vintorez) can carry range and accuracy as well as a .50 from a sniper cannon.
