COMPOTISHUN!

Post by fabyak »

Right, in what could well become a semi regular thing I propose a new photo competition!

Each time (probably bi-weekly) you will be fed a caption or title and you must find and snap an appropriate shot to go with it!
Feel free to mock up or stage the photos but please keep it away from tattyshop. Any photos are acceptable, be they from high tech camera type things or mobile ones, the content is what's important! At the end of 2 weeks the competition will close and a vote held to decide the bestest. The winnar might receive a prize or something, not sure yet (as I have not confirmed this with the powers that be)

This weeks competition will close at midnight on March 10th and the title is:

PANCAEK!

Get snapping! Og Og Og etc

Doff of the cap to Pete (I think) for the idea

I've got a picture of a really flat badger somewhere. It got smooshed on the main road through the village and was run over by lots of cars before it got eaten by crows/scraped up by a hillbilly. But that's not new so I'll not post it.

I couldn't be arsed making pancakes, so I looked for some pancake mix in the shops. Useless bastards didn't have any! All they had were those rubbish ready made things that taste like crepe (you see what I did there?). Even worse, there were no sexy checkout girlies to alleviate the disappointment.

I was going to post a picture of Sainsbury's checkout girlies from Google - unfortunately (and bizarrely) there was a link to article on Stormfront. For those who don't know, Stormfront is a far right group that make the BNP look like fluffy kittens. Morbid curiosity caused me to read some of it and now my blood is boiling from the retarded, venomous bile that these moronic twats spew into the world. Grr.

Bah, I found this instead

When I first read this I spanged myself in the face for not making pictures of the American pancakes I made today, but then I realised I told my missus about them and took a picture with my cellphone! HA!

it's the first time I made these types of pancakes so some were too thick (and thus raw inside whilst burnt on the outside) and some were burnt.
the last few were allright though, if a bit bland, so I made some whipped cream to go with it, and added honey (since i didn't have any maple syrup)
Also, that deformed thing on the side was what I made with the leftovers.

apologies for phone quality.

This competition may have a serious flaw, most 5punkers eat and THEN think.
When there are pancakes infront of us our instinct is to inhale them, rather than pose them.

I think more clarification is needed. The idea as I see it was a picture that could be subtitled with the word pancaek. It doesn't have to be food related, just that we all ended up relating it to food. (Apart from me talking about a dead badger as well)

So it could be a picture of that plane that crashed at shitpool airport with a bit of impact text underneath saying pancaek. Fr'instance.

Fab - might it not be easier if you do the caption compo and then return to this after the picture/subtitle thing is a bit more ingrained in everyone's brains? I've seen a few pictures around that offer plenty of scope for hilarious subtitling.
