Everything they do seems balanced. Guess we'll see what it's all like again soon.

Also hints that the scattergun perk gives them super-jump. Or was that already there? Not been a scout much.

Nope, but where can you see that?
Also, I suspect F-A-N might be a melee weapon as well.

In the mention of the Egypt map it says scouts can deploy vertically quickly with the scatter gun unlockable. I would guess a weaker gun that allows for a treble jump/more speed maybe?

Since it has knockback, my guess is it's weak but area effect, so if you turn that gun under yourself you'll do something like a rocket jump. And it's definitely weak otherwise you'd kill yourself.

One would assume so, like the Sandvich and the shotty for the heavy.

the Egypt map description wrote: Classes with the ability to ascend rapidly (Soldiers, Demomen, and Scouts using the new scattergun unlockable ) have lots of options for traversing the arenas.
Which I read as being like the soldier's rocket jump and demoman's grenade jump. Tricky to pull off and you lose a bit of health but fly miles up in the air. TFC had it with conc-jumps, although doing it with a gun might be more like gauss-jumping in HL1.

Hmm, an uprated and more powerful shotty that damages the scout when used? Interesting.
Would be very good for hit and run or suicide runs.

It's definitely going to be weaker due to the knockback bonus.

That would make sense actually, I suspect it might hurt you if you fire it at point blank into someone else.
Hopefully

I read it as being knockback only, not damage from using it. The dubious achievement from dying whilst using it I'd attribute to falling damage from firing it when your back is close to a perilous drop.
