I thought Leland and I were in my car.
I'll settle into my Nightsky, let anyone who wants to get in do so, and head off to a nice area of town. I'll call up <strike>Minoru</strike> Donna first. See if this person has a record.Al wrote:Nice work Leland. The guys fucked up my chi pretty bad in there, so best you stepped in. Never mind, you got the info? I'll get talking to people. Anyone who's interested in how to talk to contacts without them thinking we're cowboys feel free to come along.

Well in that case I'll get my guns out of the limo boot and transfer to Nikolai's tank truck thing if he has no objections.
I'm going to head back to my place, I've got some rather specific contacts in terms of gun running and such, but nothing else. I'll try my old mate regardless, he might know about our employers in regard to gun deals and such.
I'm not bothered about the form the pay is in, I'll have my wedge wired to my bank. (or whatever) I'll also collect whatever (if anything) is left in terms of credsticks, as everyone else has buggered off.
I'll take a bit of the slush fund, say 1k because I think I'll buy a mag filled with contact gel rounds filled with some sort of knockout drug for the sniper rifle. If I need to strike at long range if we can't get anyone in close then it'll help me put a lot of people into quiet mode without blood on the streets.

Frank wrote:Hey Nikolai, I was thinking I could take a look at your drones and your assembly rig whilst we drove back to my armoury. If you've got anyone you think would be helpful to talk to then I'll go with you too, we'll not be much use to Al and Leland as they start their talking. Maybe we could try you with our Johnson.
Frank to Leland and Al wrote:I'll head off with Nikolai, we're no use to you two as you get the feelers out. I'll see if he's got any angles, chase them up and maybe try a mate of mine too. You think he might get us info from Pastukhov given the vodka and accent thing? Then we'll go back to the armoury to draw up extraction contingencies for when we locate her. Good hunting ladies.
Frank, to Chopper wrote:Hey, if you and Jon gain anything useful apart from a fight whilst bombing around bars in his turbo dick then let me know. I'm gonna try and get the elf to put the info together whilst I work on various ways to extract the target so we get paid the rest of the folding, maybe kill a few things and keep the girl safe. Later dude.
By this time no doubt I'll be back out the lift, guns out of the Limo and into the big ass truck of Nikolai's.Frank, to N-zo wrote:Hey, when you get this and you've done your thing, head over to mine and help me put any and all info together please. I'm going to draw up some rough surveillance and extraction scenarios and you're far better with computers than me so the info will be easier for you to sort out. Catch you later.

The dude was hired to extract this chick, daughter of a powerful drug lord. He thought at first she'd been kidnapped but then as he watched her realised she was happy. So then he looked at who hired him and it was the drug lords rival trying to set him up for a fall and cause a war, usual double double cross shit. Anyway, he killed the fucking lot of them and boffed the chick. It was a classic.

Since we're all buffering actions then;
I'll talk to Donna (cop contact) first and see if she has anything. She might be able to get some stuff out of the SIN. Depending on who this person is she might have a missing person's report.
Next I'll talk to Minoru. He's probably more 'in' with the Japanese community and might have encountered her, or maybe he has some gen on what's happened to her and who else it is who wants her. You never know, there might have been other runs in relation to this backstory.
Then I'll talk to Hiro. He's a lot more likely to have encountered her and he might even know what's going on. I still don't know which Yakuza clan he's part of, although I'm sure Al would. Is this my choice Joose, or will you be choosing?
I don't think any of my other contacts will turn anything up, but we'll see what these bring first. I'll arrange to visit all in person and pay for their particular brand of entertainment (dinner with Donna, probably drinks with Minoru and Hiro, or maybe even a ballgame).

I'll contact Max, fairly well connected and loyal Seattle gun runner type. Unlikely to have any news but worth a go. I'll make sure he doesn't ask around if he doesn't know anything himself.
I'll also have a quiet chat with my boss, the one the only Jericho Helbourne off of the telly to see if he's had any sniffs of ructions in the yakuza. Finger in every damn pie that man. Again, I'll impress upon him the importance of him not getting nosy about it if he knows nothing.
If I get nothing from them then it's anyone Nikolai wants to talk to. Then the armoury.

Whoa, many things to update.
Other than that, she's been squeaky clean ever since she entered the country: no criminal record, not so much as a parking fine or a ticket for littering.
He's not directly heard of her, but says that sometimes the lads from the Shotozumi like to shack up with "respectable" girls to make themselves look more "respectable" themselves. Its stupid, as the higher ups always look down on such things, but they still do it. Sometimes it goes bad, might be related to this. He has *definately* heard of Sensei Kitsune though, and reacts to you saying you met him like you just said you met Elvis. Or possibly Hitler, you are not sure if its awed respect or fear. Apparently he is brought in by the Shotozumi when things need "tidying up, discreetly." Making people disappear is his MO, but this doesn't sound like his doing; if he had done it there wouldn't even be a record of her old SIN any more.
next!
She looks up the SIN for you, but its a bit odd. About 3 weeks ago, it went inactive. Not deleted, all of the info on it is still there, it just stopped being used for anything. Nobody filed a missing person on her though.Dog Pants wrote:Since we're all buffering actions then;

his first thought is that she might have been nabbed for a prostitution thing, which apparently happens quite a bit in the dodgier areas of the city: young foreigners and people of the less common metahuman groups get nabbed to cater for people with more exotic tastes. The more you tell them, however, the less he thinks thats the case. He does give you the addresses of a couple of clubs popular at the moment with that agegroup of japanese people. When he learns that she seems to have lead quite a nice, quiet and legal life, he suggests the nicer of the two, the Neon Flower.Next I'll talk to Minoru. He is most likely to be from either the Shotozumi-gumi or the Shigeda-gumi. The Shotozumi are the more traditional, "honourable" ones, the Shigeda are more thuggish. Up to you which he is from.Then I'll talk to Hiro. He's a lot more likely to have encountered her and he might even know what's going on. This will probably take you up for the rest of the afternoon/evening. It'll set you back a handful of nuyen, I'll work out how much and let you know via pm/xfire.I don't think any of my other contacts will turn anything up, but we'll see what these bring first. Comes up blank, im afraid. Although he has heard stories about Sensei Kitsune. He thinks hes a ghost or something.HereComesPete wrote:I'll contact Max, fairly well connected and loyal Seattle gun runner type. Unlikely to have any news but worth a go. There is *something* going on at the moment. He's had a fair bit of business that smells of Yakuza recently, and he's heard that a few of the other guys in his line of work in the area has had the same. Sounds like something is building up to go off bang. Last time things were like this was 2057, when the Yakuza were having some heavy rumbles with the Mafia.I'll also have a quiet chat with my boss, the one the only Jericho Helbourne off of the telly to see if he's had any sniffs of ructions in the yakuza.
