phones!

If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

phones!

Post by Mr. Johnson »

This Friday, my poor old cellphone died on me, and now I need to replace it, as you would.
Here's what I'm looking for;
-nothing that slides or flips open or similar, those things break faster then a choirboy's anus.
-Doesn't have to do anything spectacular, I'm going to use it mainly as a calculator, calender and for the usual phone duties.
-a camera is fun at times but not necessary.
-I'm looking for something not much higher than 100 quid.
-preferably somewhat sturdy.

Any recommendations?

My Nokia 6300 seems to fit those specs, I've seen tons of people with them.

I've had flippy ones break on me but never slidy ones.

Nokia are good, samsung are okay, sony ericsson are either really good or break.

If you just want a handset, try manufacturers sites and look at clearance deals maybe?

You could probably spend ~£50 and get a phone that does all that you want and more. My mum just bought a sony t303 from 02 it was £49, the camera is poo but it does everything else. Plus it has a small amount of space for musics and a radio in case you forget your mp3 player. It is slidy though.

:above: also, berkproof, decent enough battery life too.

How odd, I've been looking for one this afternoon. I need to go and see O2 about moving to PAYG.

the 6300 looks really good, and berkproof means it'll withstand my clumsy ham-hands.

Cheers guys!
