Screenshots, both Wake Island, lovely :D

Looks like they're adding lots of destructable environment, and to be fair, the Pacific is a hardly used WWII setting, so that's nice :)

Some of the models look a bit dated.

I'm quite glad of the colour scheme, less brown on grey on mud on sludge than a lot of recent games.

I wonder if the less detailed models/textures are related to destructible environment stuff, or just laziness in early meeja.

Probably not worth bothering with, it'll only have 3 maps and be download only, most likely via EA downloader. They've ruined the beef series.

Blimeh I didn't read that, just watched the video. The 3 maps and 24 players thing does sound a bit shit.

Ah, so it's a game being designed with XBLA/PSN/digital distribution in mind. Makes more sense now.

Apparently the frostbite engine is from bad company.

I think they may have shot themselves in the foot with this one. They've already got beef lite coming out with heroes. If they had taken the time to update/refine beef 2 into 1943 with a full range of maps, modes, guns and vehicles then it would have got plenty of players like future beef.

As it is I'll try this, but I can't see myself playing for more than a couple of nights. It had better not be the price of a full game when it's got less content than a beef expansion pack.

I wonder if they made wake island smaller for such a small number of players to navigate it? Or put cars everywhere? If not you'll be walking around looking for a fight and get bored real quick.

Heroes is Windows only, this one is consoles as well. And as everyone knows PC Gaming Is Dead™ so they're covering their arses with this.

I think they should have just polished up the multiplayer from Bad Company, added a couple of decent extra maps maybe some more weapons and then done a decent job of porting that over. Would have been a lot easier and cheaper instead of wasting money on a half arsed game like this.
