Hi

Post by Mirror »

Hi I'm Paul

Followed a link from b3ta (where I lurk)

I play games rpg (Mirror is my Morrowind charcter btw) and fps, only played a few online games before on other peoples computers, as I only have dial up at home, this is the first time I have my own access to fast internet, so it's all a bit new,

Noticed there's a Call Of Duty : United Offensive game tonight could I join if I make it work on my computer? (bit of a novice just keep clicking buttons until something works probably won't but I'd like to give it a try)

Have tried to join xfire but keep getting a "Registration failed. Please try again" message so will have to keep trying at that

Hello Paul/Mirror

Call of Duty: UO is a popular game here and there's a game every Tuesday if not more. If you have HL2, Counter Strike: Source is every wednesday and maybe friday, if I have any say in it.

There's some regular MMO activity but I'll let someone else explain what that's all about. :)

Lo dude, welcome to teh sticky stuff

You need to do the following to get yourself setup ready for 5punkage :

1) DOWNLOAD XFIRE
2) Register with Xfire over at XFIRE.COM and then update your 5punk forum profile with your Xfire username.
3) This will add your name to the XFIRE LIST, and if you click on each user name in that list, you will be able to then add everybody on that list as your friend.
4) If you have a headset, or you just want to hear our stupid ramblings in game, then have a go at downloading/installing TEAMSPEAK
5) Either turn up for our 5cheduled games, or just hang around on xfire, and when you see other 5punkers playing games, right click on their name and select join to jump on and start shooting.
6) Felate 12 Monks from outer Mongolia, and return with the answer to the meaning of Half Life
7) ....
8) Profit!

Please let me know if you have any more questions, pull up a badger, and 5punk in his face

Welcome!

*insert old waving smilie here*

Do indeed come and join in COD tonight, you'll need to make sure you have the latest patch and it would be best to download the custom maps before hand, the COD forum should provide...

And as WEY says, get Team Speak, even if you havn't got a microphone then you can still listen in to us talk our jibber jabber.

If you havn't got Xfire working by tonight then you can still find the server using the ingame browser to join in.

Yup it seems the site is playing silly buggers at the moment.

There's a server tab on 5punk.co.uk, which will give you the IP address for our COD server tonight.
