Haynes wrote:Hang on a second... Yeah, they're straight out of Meny. Looks like they were put onto a media type who's sorted them out with your Hunter Sheet. Your call on the squad, but by the looks of their record they're fairly good on camera. Couldn't hurt to have some publicity on board.

Well I guess the next order of business is to perform the interrogation. Since I have no persuasion or intimidate skills I'll leave that up to the others. It's too bad we don't have Gek around. DP could we call him in, as it were?

He's on xfire playing WAR, but I've not seen him on the boards in ages. You're splitting the reward 6 ways as it is though, so think of the money :)

Dirk to Toast and Mephit wrote:Listen, I won't bother trying to appeal to your common sense, so instead I'll appeal to your wallets. We have a high ranking Financier with good contacts, and a media contact who are always willing to put us on camera. You guys are fresh out of Meny and probably don't have that many contacts yet - trust me, we do and we've had some pretty tasty BPNs so far. We've also got room on our squad, and we could certainly do with both of your talents. So how about we knock this "you help me first" attitude on the head and instead we join horses? Cool?

Just to give you an update too, one of ours guys is undercover at the Neon Hook. If he's successful we might be able to get some assistance from the Krosstown Traffic - whether it be intelligence, a distraction or even some extra guns. Not heard from him for a while though - he must be deep undercover.
Entering the APC, Dirk addresses the urchin
Dirk wrote:You know what, I really hate the good cop bad cop routine. Thing is though, I've only known these guys a few seconds and I can already tell that they're going to take an awful lot of pleasure from hurting you. I won't waste my breath trying to get you to talk - you can help us, or these guys can have some fun. Your choice.
Persuasion: 2,5,+4 = 11 - hmm, I have a feeling he's going to get hurt.

Toast, to Dirk wrote:Ah, whatever. If you get through this and dont die, we'll see what happens next.
Then, after Dirk speaks to the urchin:

Toast takes a deep drag on his cig, so in the relative gloom it illuminates his face in a sickly red glow. He grins.
Toast wrote:Say nothin, kid. You can withstand a little torture, cant you? eh? Go on, let Uncle Toast have a play.
Intimidate: 10,2 + 5 = 17. Not too bad, alongside Dirks persuading. Hopefully.

Grimmie takes a couple of steps back and fiddles with something while Toast gets to work.

Toast grabs the kids wrist, and hold his arm out away from his body.
Toast wrote:Is it getting warm in here, or is it just me?
Body Blaze level 1. Suddenly, Toast is a little bit on fire.

Well, the kid's arm is engulfed in flame. A look of terror passes over his face as the flesh crisps and blackens, then he gasps a few times and collapses. The smell in here is terrible.

Grimmie cringes a little and then steps forth, pressing his custom pressure-injector across the kid's neck firmly.
A click and a hiss pass as Kickstart floods through the nozzle and into his bloodstream.
Methinks the waster doth not know his own power, nevermind.
Grimmie will wait to see if the kid wakes, loading a second vial into the injector while he does so.

Dirk wrote:I'm not fantastically enthusiastic about this approach, but I did warn him. Take it easy will you? I can heal him up using flux, but I'm no medic so I've no idea what sort of state he's in.

Kid, kid! Can you hear me? C'mon, I told you what they'd do- for god's sake tell them something before it's too late!
I'll do another persuade roll as I'm assuming modifiers may have changed due to immolation:

2,3,+4 = 9

Pfft, unless he's at a major negative, I don't think I'm persuading him to do anything!

I shall make with the Paramedic roll to assess his condition.

MEEEDDIIIIIICCCC!: 10,2 + 3 = 15

Way ahead of you, though you are actually slightly better at it than me. Which is a bit of a relief, really.
