Source game freshness keep idea.

Post by Dr. kitteny berk »

As suggested by spoodie, how do people feel about say, a 3 week cycle of CS:S, TEEF and DOD:S?

That way nothing will get over-played, and enthusiasm might happen.

Discuss.

Good, but I'd add another wild card game of the month* or something so each game is almost a monthly event to look forward to.

*Ideally another Steam game, rather than something that'd need installing/patching/haxxing, etc.

I did consider that, but it risks being costly, and me actually having to do work.

I'll throw HL2:DM on to the table. It's fun for occasional plays and most people will have it available to them. We could raid a public server to avoid work.

That'll do, I don't mind the work in advance, but having to set up many new servers is a pita.

I'm not sure DOD:S would be too popular but I like the idea.

HLDM:S has a bit better selection of maps, I always found HL2DM a bit limited.

Fucking snarks!

That map where you spawn in the wall near the snarks and there's always some twat who camps in there dropping snarks on the spawn. I did it all the time. :P

Dystopia? Remember that eye-cancer-inducing one we looked at for 5 minutes?

The Ship? That was a giggle when we played it IIRC

Remember that map (I think its crossfire?) with the bunker complexe that had a "Nuke-em-all" button. that always managed to bring the rage for some reason...

This idea may insta-fail, but how about the last game of the month is a wildcard thing. Change each month out of the ones suggested so far, vote for it on the board each month?

That could work, you thinking just source, or a selection of everything?

Dunno. I was thinking source, but I guess it could work for anything. Keeping it source might increase the likelyhood of games everyone has/can get for minimal monies.

Probably best to keep it valve based, more options, but all cheap/free for most of us.
