Teen Sentenced for 'Mortal Kombat' Killing
You might remember the 2007 story of Lamar Roberts and how he inadvertently killed a 7-yr old girl while mimicking moves from the game Mortal Kombat on her. He was sentenced to 36 years in prison and 5 years probation for the crime.
"I do agree to get what I get," Roberts said to Judge Marcelo Kopcow in Weld County District Court. "I'm not a monster, your honor. I'm truly sorry (for) what happened."

Makes me wonder how many kids are injured from playing at wrestling. Kids actually believe that's real, unlike video games, but you never hear about it.

A couple of my mates when I was little used to prat about doing wrestling moves on each other, but didn't know the first thing about doing it properly, breaking their falls etc. Its a wonder they didn't end up in a wheelchair.
Whilst you're growing, theres a certain amount of 'BounceBackabilityTM' that you lose as you become an adult. [Citation Needed]
When i think of some of the shit that happened to me, i'm surprised i'm not (more) horribly disfigured! (like when i landed on my chin after falling off a 5ft wall when i was 8.)

Diffrence being that two kids of the same age knocking lumps out of each other is them being kids.
A 17 year old guy kicking the crap out of a 7 year old girl should know better.
Not that I can be arsed to look it up either, but I have seen articles of kids dying while holding their own WWF matches in their back yards. Also, the teenager sons of a co-worker managed to break one son's arm and shoulder while horsing around, he'll end up with one arm slightly shorter than the other, because he broke his shoulder at a growth point.
It's just the video game 'void' between generations at work again. Was there some movie that we all missed that showed pong turning kids into zombies or something? What villified video games to the very generation that invented them?
There's loads of injuries and possibly even deaths from back yard wrestling stuff, it's probably all over the WWF fan boards with similar outraged comments. We just get the game-related feeds here, so anything with even a slight hint of gaming gets mentioned.
Two teenagers got pissed and kicked the crap out of a 7-year-old girl they were supposed to be babysitting. Not nice, but if I recall the original case correctly, her mother had a severe lack of judgement in allowing those two to have care of her in the first place.
I'd imagine we all have incidents in our past with siblings/cousins etc where a bit of play-fighting horseplay gets out of hand, but that always stopped when it looked like someone might get hurt, or wasn't enjoying it. This was something quite different.
no wonder why little kids now a days are making impersonate the characters that they watch in the tv.
only parental guidance needs most so that this kind of crime wont happen again to others..!
Hmm, looking back at the article I wonder if the offence cried "Finish Him!" or "Fatality!" when the guilty view was returned or the sentance was passed down.
