Transporter 3
More of the same, not as good as the first, about equal with the second, possibly slightly better.
Contains the line "you're the faaabulous" I lolled

7/10 from me.
Resident Evil: Degeneration
CG Resident evil film based 6 years after the Racoon City Incident. Terrorists releases the T Virus into an airport whilst an infected traveler infects a plane. Cue a very similar situation to the one faced in Fred's Dead Air mission as a small band of survivors attempt to flee.
If you liked the games and enjoy CG films then give this a sweep/Google.

Night of the Creeps
Very entertaining B-movie with zombies, parasites from outer space, teenagers and horrible acting. The best type of 80's film there is.
I think there's quite a few references to 50's B-movies as well, but my knowledge thereof is limited, so spoodie, you know what to do!

Dai-Nipponjin (or Big Man Japan)

I think I posted that trailer on the disco a little while back and I got around to watching the film last night. It's a strange one, obviously.
Godzilla being a metaphor for the atomic bombs dropped on Japan during the WWII is fairly well known and this film updates the idea. I'm not going to pretend I understand it all but that's what I picked up from it. I'm sure there's a lot more to this film that was obvious to me. You'd need to have a detailed knowledge of Japanese culture to get it all. But with a little appreciation of the ideas its definitely worth watching, very funny in parts. Some of the humour is subtle, some the opposite.

That bloke also did an excellent job playing Kenneth Williams in a BBC Four drama called Kenneth Williams - Fantabulosa! He doesn't look much like him but he camped it up to the ceiling. Very bleak though.amblin wrote:One slight failing - the actor playing David Frost has also played Tony Blair in the past and every time the bugger smiled I saw Tony's face!

Gran Torino
Contains Clint Eastwood being deeply badass.
One of those movies that goes nowhere, but goes there extremely well.
A few of the actors aren't great, which can detract from it a little, They're mostly hmongs.
Enjoyed lots, strongly suggest watching.

The trailer looked really good so I'm glad it's lived up to it.Dr. kitteny berk wrote:Gran Torino

Persepolis
Animated biography of illustrator Marjane Satrapi. The Revolution of 1979 rids Iran of its overbearing Shah, but his replacement turns out to be rather worse.
Comedy, tragedy and Eye Of The Tiger.

After looking a bit further up the thread, I'm reminded of White Light/Black Rain: The Destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. It's more a long documentary than a film. Basically it chronicles the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki following the atomic bombs and features interviews with survivors of the blasts, and the crews that piloted the planes carrying the bombs.
It's split into 12 parts on 'tube but I reckon a full sweep can be found somewhere. It gets a little graphic half way through, but I recommend it highly.
