I think Nintendo have done away with brand names meaning anything. What does Wii mean?
Presumably the "TV" will be streamed and look pretty awful.

Isn't Wii Japanese or something? Maybe it's meant to be a pictoral representation of something, like two people trying to work out how to unfold a sofabed.

It's Wii, because it sounds like We, as in us . Meaning people playing together, also the i's look like the controllers.

The reasons for the name itself (being a "collective" exprience) was mentioned in the E3 launch years ago and was then never mentioned again.

Yeah, they literally told everyone they couldn't use the old red logo anymore and forced them to use the grey one for reasons I didn't quite understand.
