Dirk wrote:Ah Mr. Haynes, delighted to speak to you again. It seems like suchh a long time since we last spoke - how are you?
Anyway, wondering if you might be able to advise us on a situation. My apartment has been broken into and turned over. Several possessions are missing including some of my SLA gear - mainly surveillance equipment. This could just be a normal break in, but I've got a hunch telling me otherwise. Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Haha, Haynes, a man of many words.
If they took your surveillance equipment, picks and your smash-fist, does that mean you still have your super speshul forensics kit laying around?

Grim' follows Dirk onto the metro system, and presumably waves goodbye to Deej' on his fancy bike.Grimmie, under breath wrote:We could really use a car of our own, or a helicopter or summat'
I don't see why the damn cat-lizard gets wheels all to himself.

EDIT: Yep, that went too.Haynes wrote:Well, if Cloak are investigating you then it doesn't really matter whether your hunch is right or wrong. All that's important is that you've nothing to hide, which I hope is true. You're not likely to piss anyone off more by looking into it, so I'd treat it as a bona-fide burglary. I've got some contacts in Cloak, so I'll ask around. I might not be able to tell you what I find out, but I can put in a good word.

Right, assuming we've all turned up at the apartment:
I assume there will be a suitable window for us to introduce the new chaps?Dirk wrote:Deej, has your computer trickery brought up anything on burglaries yet?
Grim and Spindle, do you mind speaking to the neighbours - may get a better response if I'm not there. Maybe.
A passive chack of Deject's Computer Use (4) reveals that there have been another half or dozen similar burglaries in the area. They seem to all be fairly low SCL Ops.
Don't worry about introductions, that's sorted.
Oh, and when you get back to the flat you find the door still open, as you left it, and absolutely everything gone. Furniture, bed, fridge, even the lighbulbs.

I'll generalise the reactions of the various neighbours in order to save time.
While nobody reported anything to the Shivers, a few nearby residents heard the break-in. They're all civilians (SLA employed), so none took it upon themselves to try to get any more information. However, it seems that they heard some banging (not unusual), the voices of a group of children (quite unusual), and the apartment being ransacked (fairly unusual).
Later there were adult voices heard and the sounds of moving furniture.

Grimmie wrote:Hey, Dirk. Sounds like your place was bumrushed by a bunch of kids, and while we were indulging in facon, a bunch of older people.
You been hanging around schools talking to mothers again, enraging local schoolchildren and husbands?
The only kids that I can think may hate us, is that biker gang a couple of months back, but I don't see why they'd come after you. It was Deej' and me who perferated them.

Streetwise 2 = 2,10,+2 = 14Dirk wrote:Well now that I'm slightly less paranoid about it being Cloak, I reckon we bring those new guys in on it. Haynes says they're trustworthy and I tend to believe him. Shame that one of them is a Brain Waster though. Oh well, I'm sure we'll get along just famously. I think the other one is a Stormer, so he should be able to fill our Gerald sized hole (not that one).
Reckon we're probably looking at some sort of street gang or something. From my knowledge of the local area I can tell you...
