Veal tastes more like pork than beef to me, which was a bit disappointing. I prefer the similarly-priced venison, which I think of as kind of like beef plus.

I used calves liver in a chili I made and it came out pretty well, made the sauce inbetween the mince bits more "meaty".

Seing the pics has reminded me that I need to get a decent mincer or use the food processor next time.

I just watched this.

My list of people who can get to fuck

1. Those fucking emo's.

That is all.

I've killed plenty of birds before (I am peter sutcliffe AICMFP) And those birdies got more juice than any I've ever seen. Also, getting it wrong and getting a finger between the prongs makes them burst open like a ripe melon/cheap sausage in a frying pan. Never did it myself because I never worked that long so I just cut necks, probably a good thing really.

Way I see it, they are bred for food, they wouldn't be alive at all if this wasn't the case. We do have the right to rear and kill them, as humans we started off as hunter gatherers and we gradually domesticated animals as food sources, guards and companions, we didn't cheat at that shit.

That said, I want them to lead as healthy and humane a life as possible, but I will lose not a moment of sleep over the hundreds of animals that I have killed over the years.

The should have got a breatharian type to call out the vegan 'every time you pluck an apple from a tree, it's murder! Every carrot pulled from the ground is genocide!'. She seemed so sure of her beliefs that I was positive she would explode with rage at some pint, but it never arrived, I wanted to see that.

Apparently, somehow, this has got a 3rd season.

Deer

Edit: looks like they're getting people to kill and prep the beasties themselves. :)

Surely that'll undermine the principle of trained people killing the animals humanely, and only serve to encourage people like those emo wankstains from the other day.

I don't understand why this one-trick pony of a show is still running. See animals, kill them, people look shocked (why, I don't know - what did they think happened, it always happens exactly how I imagine it to and it's getting boring and samey now) then they eat an unimaginative recipe.

Perhaps they should introduce a gladiatorial element, where the animals have an equal chance.

Anyone bothered with this series?

The deer interested me, because, well, it's not a pointlessly small bird, I'd've liked to see boar and suchlike too.

I've watched deer, pheasant and most of rabbit. It's alright, but I don't think I can be bothered with the rest. It's different enough make it worth watching a couple of episodes. I'd like to have a go at killing my own meat now.

I watched about 10 mins of an episode the other day then had to turn off before it made me angry. I think it's interesting, but it has definitely served its purpose now. Getting the audience to kill animals is an interesting way of varying it, but for me it also goes completely against the humane killing by trained and experienced experts which was so heavily lauded at the beginning. Gladiatorial combat would be far better, especially if they pitted 2 emo vegans against a wild boar.

The boring recipes really surprised me the first time. To go to all that effort to glam up the show and then get some fat bint of a cook (doesn't warrant the title of chef in my opinion) to cover animal x with butter or oil and then roast it was really missing a trick for me.

So fucking that, I can see the point of not fucking with the meat, but the fact she always added herbs, then larded it with butter, just kinda missed the point a little for me.
