Yes, one of the first fruits of the Left 4 Dead modding scene has revealed itself, and it's a doozy. Fancy slaying deadheads by the metric crapton in a Dawn of the Dead-esque shopping mall?

It's actually a remake of a map for the old Half-Life 2 mod No More Room In Hell, but there's hardly anything more appropriate for Valve's top-notch zomb 'em up. In fact, it's the kind of setting I'd guess Valve have considered themselves, and it's vaguely amazing there wasn't a mall in the initial L4D release. As the architecture for this Crossroads Mall map exists already, hopefully we should have it very soon. A beta's due by Christmas, in fact. Until then, there's a video beneath the cut.

Very old map, if he gets hold of the l4d sdk and kits it out nicely then woo, but I can see this being nothing but promises or really shit.

What it needs is a dash through a suburban neighbourhood populated by it's zombified inhabitants as you head for the safety of the local pub where the army will arrive to extract you after a frantic defence of the pub.

Nice. The website needs a "let me know when it's ready" button.

Excellent! Can't wait.

I agree with you Spoodie. Every mod site should have a button like that.

On a related note, there are unofficial dead air and death toll versus maps that work pretty decently. Some props appear white if you dont have shaders on medium, which is strange, but it's worth it for dead air :)

also there's a console command that lets incap'd survivors crawl about. There's an animation for it and everything
