.CBR = Comic Book Reader file.
I use Comical to read them, displays both pages and turns two at a time so you can get double page spreads to show properly.
Also compresses the pages into a nicely scalable format.

New trailer: http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/1808406490/video/10658091
Now with less Smashing Pumpkins and more Philip Glass's Pruit Igoe.

Still looking good, so far.

I think I damn near pissed myself with sheer, intense glee when Take A Bow started playing.

Oh yeah, I assumed that was the Pumpkins track from the last trailer. There's not much of it though, so I'll let myself off. :whew:

Actually real videotape recording of a 70's news broadcast with no made up content, featuring the Watchmen:

How many people are planning to watch the watchmen at a cinema?

Cause it sounds like the sort of film that most of us would try and get to see on a big screen, and even i could be persuaded to overide my hatred of public cinemas to watch this....
Might wanna start working out how you're gonna do this, Jammyham.
Release date is 6th March 09.

I know nothing of this Watchmen series. I'm presuming it's a comic of some sort and now filmified?

Although by the looks of you lot being on the verge of vinegar strokes I'll have to see it at some point.

I'd never heard of it either, but it's the sort of thing I usually like, although that V for Vendetta one was a bit spazzy.

Thanks for that link :above:

My brother bought ALL comic books from the mid '70 till about 1990 and still has them all. I remember reading Watchmen back in '86 (after dropping out of college 2x and moving back home from Chicago to Detroit) it was quite different. Although, I don't remember much...I do remember it was rather complicated and very serious.

Alan Moore is a great writer in the comic book world...he did some amazing work and I always looked for ones that he wrote. In the mid 80's, comic books were being revived with new talent and top writers/artists with less restrictions. Alan Moore did quite a bit for DC Comics and I remember Todd McFarlane doing the same for Spiderman, John Byrne doing X-Men+Fantastic 4, and William Simonson doing Thor are some that I remember.

Anyways, I'm glad that Alan Moore is a Brit and he's stubborn as hell to not let Hollywood fuck up the Watchmen movie...

Thanks for the reminiscing :ahoy:

Jonathan Ross went to the premiere last night.

Wossy's Twitter Watchmen review
@'s signify a reply to a question.
Wossy wrote:So we saw Watchman last night. Apologies for not tweeting after - was a late night by our standards !

Watchman probably the most faitful adaptation of a comic to the big screen. Ending changed very much for the better.

Great sets, costumes, special effects - Rorshach especially good.

Downside - too long, too reverential, lacks pace and feels a little dull at times. In short - I love it and at same time am unimpressed !

There was a super cool yellow carpet at the premiere with the blood splattered smiley face on it. IWOOT.

@tonycottam Non comic fans will be a bit confused. Dara O Brian was there and he said a lot of it went over his head.

@johnhood No point even speculating really. Think Snyder is very talented. Did great job against enormous odds.

@scaryjones Didn't think it was weak, just think it's one of those ideas that works in comics that wouldn't work on big screen.
