Mirror's Edge [Gaming]
It's fast, furious and more sprightly than a game from 1984. It's also slightly nauseating, but we haven't let that stop Andy as we send him onto the rooftops to review Mirror's Edge with a PS3 controller in one hand and sickbag in the other. Check out his thoughts within!

No. Assassins creed was pretty much Tenchu with religion. This is something more like a FPS Matrix game, but yet at the same time it seems to have its own unique style. Which is nice.

I meant that more in the sense that it looks ace, and sounds awesome in theory, but it will probably suck, like Assassins Creed. The obvious comparisons are there though.
This game is very hard. It's like trying to play Sonic in first-person, not third-person like Sonic Adventure, first-person. Like the tricky jumpy bits in Half Life but at a much faster pace.
Looks fantastic though, if a little reminiscent of Student's Union buildings.

Have you played Assassins Creed, FJ? The free-running stuff was one of the only parts I really liked in that; seem to work OK (as long as the camera was pointing the right way).

No, I don't like stealth games very much, which is what put me off buying it. My brother has it on PS3 and the tutorial completely confused the fuck out of me - too many buttons.
Mirror's Edge has relatively simple controls - left stick like WASD, right stick like the mouse, L1 for "high" moves (ie: jump, grab), L2 for "low" moves (slide, roll on landing). It's just really hard to get the timing right with the first-person view, I had to have at least ten goes at many parts of the tutorial.
i gave in and rented this. mostly i have enjoyed it apart from a few problems like the main game is far too short i only rented it out earlier today and im on the last level, the only reason ive not finished it yet is because i was cocking about in race mode. oh and the few seconds it takes for you to die after youve taken a fatal wound, and sometimes you can get killed from an enemy just blocking your punches. enjoyed it much more than assasins creed
Played the demo, liked it but not enough to shoot out and buy it. Not at the top of my list but after Christmas, I may consider it and will get for definite if it's cheap.
