Excellent. One of the few things I'll actually sit in front of the tv for.

the edited version they show on BBC America here is rubbish, I sweep the unedited UK version. They change the music and cut out a lot of the hilarious squabbling that makes the lot of them funny.

That's because BBCA are slightly more evil than something remarkably evil.

The in-studio bits always seem horridly stuffy and scripted and the car reviews merely filler to pretend it's still a car programme, it's the challenges where they're competing against each other where it shines.

Really? I thought it was one of the worst I've ever watched. The Mika Hakkinan thing was OK, but the rest of it seemed like they were a bit short on ideas.

I suspect you only remember the V8 blender though

I knew that bit had real potential when I thought of the video of a v8 chainsaw :)

Please tell me that was hyperbole. I was meh toward it but it's far better than a lot of top gears that have been made. The blender was good, captain slow not slow was good, the renault round the track thing was too long and realy shit imo. Don't mind wahlberg overmuch.

They could have done a lot better tuning up the Renault. I mean 3,000 quid on brakes? They could have spent a lot less. But I guess that's their way, do something horribly wrong.

Blimeh.

I didn't really laugh much but I did watch it through, I have switched it off before because it was hurting my eyes, but that was a while ago.

related - I do catch up on 5th gear when I remember, but the entire series with that cupcake off soccer am was so shockingly bad I had to mute him whilst I was staring at Butler-Henderson's tits and filthy smile, they really are the only reason to watch it at all. That fat guy called tom or similar is quite funny as well, but I'd rather watch the tits.
