Well I've gone and ordered some new hosting

Post by Woo Elephant Yeah »

This is to avoid future downtime and support fuckups and so on with my current host provider.

In a cruel twist of fate, this does however mean that I may have to take the site down, in order to transfer it to the new hosting

I need to get together with Stoat to discuss this as we may take the opportunity to make sure everything is up to date with the 5cheduler, xfire list, arcade, and any other modifications.

I ahve a feeling I am going to need to destroy the existing Arcade and start from scratch, as there are a number of issues still outstanding with iti that I just can't fix.

So to sum up, there's going to be lots of shit going on in the background, so bare with us whilst we sort 5punk out.

4.8GB disk space
120GB bandwidth :D

Part of the evolution process, that fact that you need to improve the hosting is a good sign of success :D

Well both myself and Stoat (mostly Stoat for he is mighty and powerful in the way of teh codezzz) have been working behind the scenes on it today, and hopefully everything will be ready to go across and switch over very soon.

Bare in mind that switching nameservers from one host to another can take up to a couple of days, but I promise 5punk will be back better, more stable, with extra content.

Of course, Dave the monkey will still be "hanging" around on the front page. :aww:

istr some stuff with DNSs etc was fettled recentlyish that makes it a feckload faster.

also, depending how the new hosts do it, you might be able to blag an IP or subdomain out of them to avoid downtime.

Welcome to the new host.

There's still some details to sort out, but everything should work as normal.

Let me know if anything is broken.

Aha, right then, if you have suddenly lost your avatar, and it's one I hosted for you, it should be somewhere in here

http://5punk.co.uk/b3ta/

I have done this for quite a few of you, so I won't go through them all
