5punkers! I want plot heavy games!
I'm in a bit of a slump at the moment and I need your help.
I want some games that'll draw me in, that I'll enjoy, they don't have to be perfect just long lasting and entertaining.
Can you start chucking titles at me please?
/Note, I've done Fallouts, Oblivion, Deus Ex.

Have you played the fallouts with the fan patches/add ons etc? Restoration project adds a lot.
Same with baldurs gate 1 and 2 plus add ons, loads of things got missed out to finish and release, fans and ex company devs have put a lot back.
Planescape torment is a bloody good game.
You could try something like x3, but it's learning curve is actually a cliff.
Get some mechwarrior 4:mercs and get all the mek paks, loads of new chassis and maps with that.

Hours lasting wise is kinda anything that will take 20 hours or more (basically, not a short game).
I'll put Baldurs Gate 1 on the burner (never liked 2).
I've done Fallout/C&C/Total War to death, and I want something I've not played before, keep the suggestions coming from all genres and I'll have a looksie.
I just need something to consume me for a while so I can take my mind off of a person and to cure the fact I chose a silly set of people to live with. I hate being intelligent enough to simply be able to "think" and double guess everything.

Champ manager. Fable. The witcher enhanced. COD4 single player. Far cry (up to getting dropped off on a big hill with no weapons) Neverwinter nights and add ons, that's a lot of hours right there. NWN2 plus add on/s (not sure if the second expansion is out). Fear. Painkiller. Serious Sam 1/2. zombie panic. CSS. Move out. Masturbate constantly. Whilst crying. And holding a knife to your own throat.

I was going to suggest Mass Effect. If you're not a complete nonce and skip all the side quests and skip all the incredibly well done dialog you can easily get 25-40 hours out of it.friznit wrote:Mass Effect you've done I take it? Vampire Masquerade, Longest Journey (I think it's called that? Somone mentioned it a while back). I'm guessing MMO's are out?
Also, The Longest Journey and TLJ: Dreamfall are great games, well worth checking out.

Freelancer I've done to death, and I've played Maskerade though a few times, Stalker with OL is currently at home and I'm just in Pripyat and will wait till crimbo to finish that.
Mass Effect never really grabbed my attention, but I'll give it a shot, and Sins I've been waiting to try so that'll be purchased.
I think those will keep me occupied for now along with Baldurs and NVN, so thank you chaps!

TLJ and Dreamfall are very story driven, in fact it's pretty much the only reason to play them. Dreamfall in particular is basically a story thinly veiled as a game. It's not quite MGS4 levels of lame cutscenes, but the gameplay is also much more relaxed.
Oh and don't bother playing Dreamfall without a gamepad with dual analog sticks. It's quite obvious that the game was designed for one, and the controls are utter shit with a keyboard & mouse. Pretty much anything with dual analog sticks will be fine.
