Cookery shows

I shall investigate. As I've said elsewhere, I hate the US version of this show, but as long as I don't watch it weekly I can probably hack the odd episode.

One observation from most of his past shows (especially in the UK at least) is that he usually gives the impression of actually caring about the restaurant, and wants to make it work. However the twunts in America seem far more arrogant and less willing to take on board his ideas, which he doesn't seem to like very much.

I'm enjoying Great British Menu at the moment, not really cookery, but good foodie telly, gives good ideas.

Just watched the first ep of Marco's Great British Feast.

He's obviously madder than a bucket of bees, but that's not really a bad thing.

I was amused by the first recipe (bunny soup) containing Mirepoix, which is very, very classic French, in a show meant to be very, very British.

Though some of the food, like the pork belly looked fucking gorgeous.

Just a shame the ITV streaming thing is worthless and weak.

marco is a fucking headcase, and really not very good at english food.

all very pretty but fairly, well, meh, stuff any monkey could make really.

Not to mention that, considering this is meant to be british, well. isn't.:

Soused herring - not exactly british.
Ham salad - The ham is pretty much prosciutto made in england, not really british.
Bambi tartare - About as british as the queen.

Saw one of these t'other day, but I find the format of the programme a bit grating, and Gregg Wallace is an utter twunt.

Jamie's Ministry of Food has started.

Jamie Oliver trying to teach people how to cook, Kinda like the school dinners thing he did a while ago, but with adults who can't cook. (We'll sum this up as Rotherham)

Even if you do dislike him, what he's doing is a good thing and it's really needed, worth a watch, will enfloorificate it.

I've not actually, seen it a few times and it's too reality for my liking, and I'll happy watch masterchef and kitchen nightmares, so that's saying a lot.

Britain's Best Dish

I just saw this, and honestly thought it was a joke, It's that bad.

Think Masterchef clone, but with judges who are so charismatic they need a presenter who's fucking terrible.

Add to that the really, really bad food that's involved, seriously, "Vegetarian haggis pakoras with a duo of chutneys" fuck off. Just no.

Seriously, I suggest you all watch this while thinking that Chris Morris was involved, it makes it fucking awesome.

I'm not much of a foody type, but when I do sit down and watch stuff like this

Bit of travel mixed with local cuisine testing, local food places and a little cooking.
Would definitely recommend.
