Spec me a cheap ass machine bitches

Post by MIkkyo »

the Mrs Computer has gone and died finally. Chip set fan failed and the chip seems to have melted or something. So I need to get a new mother board it seems. Although it would probably work out dearer to buy a mother board that is compatible with the old RAM and graphics card.

So I need a cheap ass machine I can go out and buy tomorrow probably, motherboard graphics and RAM.

Edit, oh yeah and a proccessor.

Presuming the Mrs. isn't much of the computer-intensive gaming type, just buy:

But separately, and with maybe a beefier processor.

With that spec, it'be hoped she'll never be - Celerons are piss-poor for games, but manage normal webby word processory stuff okay.

£30-40 later on for a simple processor swap isn't bad though, should she develop an interest.
