Hmm, I signed up for the beta over a year ago, but I can't remember my username or password now. The FAQ/technical support page is quite frankly piss poor, and it won't let me create another account because the email address is already in use (though you have to go through the entire registration process before it fucking tells you this).
Anger levels rising, and the game isn't even installed yet.

I've guessed 4 times now and can't get it (I remember it had to be an awkward variation of my name due to the letters and digits it needed). Tried password recovery but the link is borked. I've submitted a help form, but fuck knows when/if they'll respond to that.Dr. kitteny berk wrote:try to login, guess password, use password recovery page?

Same thing happened to me, the password has to be at least 8 characters and contain 2 numbers, if that helps, that's how I remembered it in the end.Roman Totale wrote:Hmm, I signed up for the beta over a year ago, but I can't remember my username or password now. Another problem is that my normal email address (below) isn't "valid" because it has a . before the @, so I had to use my Dreamhosts one. You can always use a different email address - gmail, hotmail or I can host you here or at fatherjack.net
Couldn't find my original sign-up mail either, and when I did get it working, got a message saying "some components could not be activated on this account, use a different email address". Perhaps there were some freebies I was supposed to get, but the game login works at least.

I think we're http://www.war-europe.com/ which seems to be only half-built currently.Dr. kitteny berk wrote:https://accounts.eamythic.com/forgotpassword seems fine here, try another browser?

hahaha!
What a bunch of knobbers! Surely you'd pop on over to the gw webernet shop and have a look if you didn't have a cloo? Even for a quick peek. Or am I assuming too much intelligence in regard to the average war player?War webshite, eu flavour wrote:
Many of you have been receiving your Collector's Edition boxed sets today and amongst all the lovely things inside is your limited edition Grumlok and Gazbag miniature by Games Workshop. Please be aware that this figure is manufactured in several parts and must be assembled – superglue is ideal for this. It is quite normal for the axe and armour spikes to be separate in the blister pack, there is no need to return your box as they will all be the same.

suggest otherwise. I don't know if they were advertised like that.
I didn't buy that version, but I'd want an assembled and painted model if I did want one, 'cos there's no way in hell I'd ever be able to do anything that fiddly. Not gluing myself to something is a challenge I would likely fail.

Right, managed to fudge it using an old email address. One question remains though:
where the fuck do I log into the 'portal' to set up my fucking billing options!?
Jesus, I don't think I've ever been made to rage so much over a fucking game installation*
*though the 7am starts and 7pm finishes may be having something to do with it.

The portal, I'm guessing, is fucked. There's a greyed-out box on the http://www.war-europe.com/ site which looks like you should be able to login - I guess they have 30 days to get that fixed before anyone needs to subscribe. I'm kind of happier that way round, as it saves me cancelling if I don't want to play beyond that.Roman Totale wrote:where the fuck do I log into the 'portal' to set up my fucking billing options!?
Having said that, it didn't crash today and I'm subsequently liking it rather a lot more. Put in 4-5 hours and got to chapter 2 and level 4 as an engineer.
Much better with the 5punkchat and a few others on, as we discover the interface's peculiarities, and nice to chat in-game with a couple of people I haven't gamed with much before. What brought me back to WoW both initially, and with 5punk was having people to talk to and ask questions without having to get annoyed by a puzzling array of menus and quests.
To answer some of my own questions, pets seem to work, but are very weak to begin with - they pull aggro, but don't hold it too well, but you do get credit for their kills - but given you have to earn them in most other MMOs, they are pretty pleasing.
The start areas I've seen are reasonably distinctive in themselves, but markedly different across factions - this bodes well for varied, interesting terrain in-between. The greenies camp you battle in the first pubic quest feels just like you're in an Ork base in Dawn of War (to me, and my limited knowledge of the difference between Warhammers)
The UI is okay, you have to learn a few colour codes to work out what stage your quests are at, and the picking-up of loot items could be a lot easier, some face glitches and you have to agree to the ToC every time you login, but nothing broken badly as yet.
