Joystiq will make any sacrifice to bring you the latest news -- even if it means flying to Paris, France in order to attend Blizzard Entertainment's Worldwide Invitational. Only seconds ago we were shown a cinematic from Blizzard's newest game: Diablo 3. We're currently being shown a live demo of the game (which we're reminded is a work in progress) by lead designer Jay Wilson. The look and feel of the game -- though graphically updated from its aging sibling -- looks a lot like the dungeon crawls we all know and love from the original series. We're promised more loot, more quests (and some old friends like Deckard Cain), and new environments. We'll update you with more information about Diablo 3 as we hear it!Permalink | Email this | Comments

I sunk many, many hours into Diablo and Diablo 2. I will almost certainly do the same with 3. I'm just pissed because it looks like they're going to be replacing my Necromancer with with Witchdoctor!

Me neither, apart from recently and the simple graphics put me off so that doesn't count. Don't hate for it. I'm sure it was/is awesome but there's newer games to play.

This new version however looks amazing.

Well, you could play Titan Quest, it's a straightforward Diablo ripoff.

The Dungeon Siege games are kind of similar too and I slightly prefer them as you aren't stuck with the fixed view.

What TQ and Diablo both had though was that sometimes you'd get REALLY good, almost inappropriate drops which would have you pwning most enjoyably for a few levels.

Due to boredom I've started playing Diablo II again, and as such, this news excites me greatly.

Wowser, another one to be excited about. Absolutely loved Diablo 2 and still do. Looking forward to this. That fight towards the end was impressive
