DX10 on XP

If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

Umm, I get "DX10 only" features in Crysis with some ini tweaking. Do you actually need DX10 software? :/

Old news iirc, was either earlier this year or sometime in the 2nd half of last year they first released info that they'd go DX10 on XP.

There's also that other...patching...company that like modifiying the .exe's and .dll's to allow certain "dx10 + Fista only" game to run easily on XP.

It's not exactly like we're spoilt for choice for DX10 games either.

I don't remeber, did DX9 take this long to get going? Seems like we've had DX10 cards forever, and there's such a limited amount of software that actually it uses it fully. That said, Fista I guess.

Looks interesting, might have a play with it.

I'll be interested how the performance scales.

I suspect it depends how well the game is coded/uses DX10.

Yeah the Crysis effects are just not available with DX9, if you modify the config files, the "DX10" Very High settings work just fine under DX9.
